Little late to the party (that skill tree sure made me not wanna touch mwo for a while), so pls excuse if this has been brought up before numerous times - yes i tried the search function and it´s still as useless as ever.

So with the new patch my FPS are now regulary dipping into the 30´s whereas before this patch it used to run at a rocksteady 60 FPS.

What happened?
Has PGI acknowledged the problem?
(When) Will it be fixed?

I assume it´s the UI again, since nothing else changed too much in the game, and because it´s PGI´s #1 reason for performance ping pong since CBT from my experience. But i´ll gladly take any form of advice.

Pls no cookie cutter answers like "did you upgrade your video drivers" or "what´s your rig". You´ve been asking that aswell in CBT when the ping pong occured (many, oh so many times) and the cause for it never was on my end.

TL/DR: MWO ran well before. Now it does´nt. Why? Posted Image

I get them a lot on incursion, which I believe is something to do with the walls and all the extra bits, but I'm not sure.

It´s on all QP modes for me, out of ~10 matches it seemed worst on Frozen City (Assault).

it's tradition to bring down performance with every patch or so; just like having a hotfix after every patch

other than that
a Windows update, video recording got switched on in the Xbox app, shader cache needs emptying, running repair tool
HPET something something
usual stuff really

haven't seen anyone complain about for this patch but you
only the usual "MWO runs terrible" threads
but then thats why they closed some of the subsections, it's all so depressing :D

PGI acknowledge?
Ohh please you :D

MechCon man and stuff

but on the serious side
they need to spend serious time on optimization for a few months
you're not new to the party
I'm sure you know the usual stuff

that being said, hope there's not too much other stuff in the background

maybe more LRM, since they are kinda back a lot
more particles flying around in form of smoke causing you're dips?

Suspected particles too as the dips seemed to occur more when zoomed in and lots of stuff was flying around (but also on unsuspicious acts, like turning your mech a few degrees to the left or right), lowered from very high to high, no change. And I´m simply not ready to believe i´ll have to run lowest settings the now when literally nothing has changed in the game gfx wise.

What´s really unsettling is the fact that it went well for .. well since i´ve got my new rig in february last year. All the patches since then did no harm at all. Only now there seems to be something terribly wrong. Not reassuring either that i seem to be the only one experiencing this.

Will try shader cache but that too never helped before.

You mean as in shadow play, when it´s recording in the background? If true, that miiiiight be a lead. Will check.

if you're on windows 10
it has an Xbox app that can record games
some patches ago it was sometimes on by default

shadowplay should be off by default

the windows 10 creators update has a built in game mode with video recording
and some had issues with the update

that is all if you're using windows 10

Doe the user.cfg tweaks still work in newer patches? That might be a way to squeeze a bit more performance out of MWO.

For me, the problems began during Tukayyid 3.. something went very wrong, and people were disconnecting left and right.. ever since, FPS spikes and it's completely unpredictable..

I go from 60 to 20 and back in seconds.. especially if there are many mechs on-screen.. I actually got killed because of lag on more than one occasion.. The game just locks me in place with lag, and I get shot and killed before it un-lags..

Yeah, something got screwy in the last patches..

PGI we could really use a fix for this..
