You resurrected a thread that had been silent for a month. Including your post there is only 20 responses with only 8 different people responding. Although a few players had problems, there is evidence that it was not a wide-spread problem. In the intermittent month of silence before your post, OP, apparently the players that were having issues got them resolved and we hear of no further issues.

So, OP, your post appears to be nothing more than an ad hominem attack (personal attack) and an appeal to spite (appeal to emotion by exploiting supposed bitterness or spite toward a party, in this case PGI).

Yeah.. I still have issues with the portal.. it's still not updating and patching.. it downloads the patch / hotfix and then "verifies patch" for days.. just hangs up.. I do it in the old launcher in minutes..

So yeah.. there's still a problem.. it's just not talked about as much..

What was the point of the new portal? I never had a single problem with the normal patcher... Even when i interrupted it it always resumed and installed properly. If i ever wanted to move the install location or install it in a new pc i could keep the mwo files for a new install and it would only update what was missing. Great.

I havent moved to the new portal yet nor do i want to. If they stop supporting the old patcher like the message says im not sure i will be bothered to re-download mwo all over again even tho i still would prefer to play and support the game when content i like comes for sale, But having to re-download 20gb from scratch and move to a buggy patcher may literally stop me playing the game for a long while and i know a few other players that feel the same way.

You should not need to download everything.

Portal combines normal game plus PTS, it's not much else.

Why combine normal and pts game?

If you wanted to install pts without redownloading all again simply start pts download then stop it and copy paste your normal mwo files and resume patcher again. Worked fine and only downloaded new pts files.

Really dont get why pgi put resources in the new portal patcher when it was totally uneeded.

How do I get in the old way I haven't played for weeks because of this.
it hangs up every time trying to install files. even though I have already downloaded them.

Why are people so resistant to just moving the files over to Steam? It's a much better overall experience.
