I've always played long/mid range, pretty much none of my mechs are suited for engagements closer than 400m but wanted to try out some SRM/AC20 gameplay. Can someone recommend some builds please? Preferably Clan, for faction play reasons. The splat madcat looks good, but given that the SRMs are on both sides of the torso, twisting will eventually result in losing 1/2 your firepower. I made a 4xSRM6 1xC-UAC20 build, but am not so sure on things such as ammo ratios and whether or not it will run far too hot. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hello Camm2310,
I don't run clan mechs much but your load out looks reasonable if you keep an eye on your ammo count. You can try using chain-fire for your srms to reduce heat. As long as you keep moving during the brawl you should be ok. I prefer running regular AC20's but you mileage may vary.
Good hunting,

Orion.

You can switch the LBX for an UAC. Great build, though I prefer the IIC "prime" version.
UAC20, 3 ASRM 6 and 3 SPL.

Those are propably the two best clan brawlers with those specific builds. However while the Orion is very tanky, its left torso is HUGE. Unfortunately its also the torso where most of your firepower is.
Huntsman with 6xSRM6+A is also a good one, but it has worse missile placement than Mad Dog.
OP mentioned the UAC20's. I wouldn't take them. Since it fires in burst it means way too much facetime which is always a bad thing in a brawl. And if they jam it takes forever before you can fire again. IS AC20 is excellent brawling weapon with its single shot mechanic and it pairs really well with SRM's.

I recommend the following for agility:
MDD-A 1x CLB20X AC, AMS, 4x CSRM 6
I know it is very similar to yours, but I feel the AMS is very effective. Max armor on all but the legs, and losing either torso only halves your firepower. The LBX with SRMs can one shot a DWF back. The only thing to watch is the SRM ammo, but if your shots all count, then you should have no problems.
For firepower:
DWF-B 2x CLB20X AC, 2x LB10X AC
Extremely powerful in close quarters, it destroys any foe it looks at. Just be careful with LB10X shots and you'll do fine.

Usualy I brawl in IS mechs but I'll write down some of my clan brawlers:
Light:
Here IS rules for me. There is only one clan light I run:
Laser ACH
It is not the best backstabber but It still has a respectable firepower. Use MPL as poke and harrass weapon at "longer" ranges. Add SLs for better alphas or a real brawl.
Medium:
Fun NVA
If you can handle 3 weapongroups and ghostheat: it is not the most effective brawler, but it is realy funny to play.
SPL-NVA
One Firegroup for each arm. Dont trigger ghostheat. If you feel cool and hate LRMs, drop two DHS and slap 2 AMS + a ton of ammo on your mech.
HBK-IIC
My smallest balistic brawler: It is fun and effective against damaged enemies. But it is somewhat slow and short on ammo. So try to fight mostly ~100-200 meters range. Do not waste ammo.
HBK-IIC-B
My first brawler <3. There are better mechs for SRMA brawling, but it still rocks, runs fast, runs cool and it makes you to an unique snowflake on the battlefield. NO. ONE. RUNS. HBK-IIC-B AS. BRAWLER (IN QP).
Heavy:
Sadly I have nearly no brawlers here... but so much of them to get... The only clan brawler I run, I can not realy recommend: It is large, it is wide and it is often focused... it is a:
TBR-D
replace the LST if you have no need for JJ but want more podspace. Use your SPLs only if you run cool or can finish someone off with them... Or play mini Scorch:
TBR-D
It is much better done on Orion-IIC but I do not own it (now). It is somewhat low on ammo but it works well as speartip or cleanup mech.
Assault:
Waiting for MC-MK2 to ship and for Scorch on mc sale... The only brawling assault I have and love is CP-10-Q... But it is an IS mech. So no builds here...
EDIT: In long forgotten Ages I used this:
KDK-3
Should still work... No idea if I should recommend it. Dakka is so much better on it.

Why brawl with them when you can one-shot them? ... Or one-shot them like a hero? ...
On a slightly more serious and newb-friendly note, Linebacker does it faster, Summoner does it higher and Scorch does it better.
Since recent nerf hit cSPLs real hard, most of the clan brawling mechs like Nova or Gargoyle are dead tho ...
