Considering the new jam mechanics for RAC2/5 I was wondering. What if all autocannons had a bar but instead of jamming once you have filled that bar the reticule will start shaking like the new heavy gauss. Battletech has something similar if you fire an autocannon each round you get a refire penalty until you take a 1 round not shooting the autocanon.

Combined with something like energy draw (other topic I know but bear with me for now) you could keep things seperate. The possibilities ....Energy draw for energy based weapons and gauss, refire penalty for ballistics and a spread penalty for missiles. This new jam bar opens so much potental to finally remove ghost heat.
