Has anyone tried running heavy machine guns on the Viper?

I have been running around the training grounds with 4 hmgs and 4 tons of ammo but have been running really low by the time I burn through the CT of the crash test dummies. I have been trying various laser hmg combos.

I was going to buy and build one after you planted the idea in that Ice Ferret thread. Would have looked something like VPR-C. It -was- going to be 4 HML instead but I didn't realise they not only have ghost heat at 3 but are also heat-linked to the micropulse :\

VPR C, max your armor, slap on four HMGs with two tons of ammo, back it up with five heavy small lasers and two heat sinks.

Max your relevant JJ quirks, get 100% sensor damp skills, max your relevant speed and maneuverability quirks. Can easily pull 400+ damage scores with relevant kills.

It's basically an aerospace fighter. A friend and I use a pair of these at a time and it's just a hilarious blast.

This may not sound like much to better players than me but I just used an single erppc and 2 mpl build on my Viper. I have alot of fun with it.

One of the Viper builds has a nice PPC quirk.

I have tried the Heavy Medium Laser + Light Machine Gun build.
The thing there is the synergy with the ranges of the two weapons.
Have to be very careful with your heat though, the Viper tends to run very hot.

If you are looking at other Machine Gun builds to match with lasers of the same approximate range, consider:
- Heavy Small Lasers + Standard Machine Guns.
- Micro Pulse Lasers + Heavy Machine Guns.

The second problem you face though is that the Viper is quite fragile.
Nice pursuit mech though.
