Currently the HGR does 25 damage at 180m outward to 810m. What's up with that? Every 126m, the damage drops off by 5, that means at 306m its as powerful as the AC20, 432m it's as powerful as GR, at 558m its as powerful as an AC10, at 684m it's as powerful as an AC5, and then eventually does 0 damage at 810m. We might as well use AC20, and we can shoot it faster.

It should do better damage at a larger range than the AC20, else we might as well not use it.

And as if that's bad enough, there's reticle shake and screen shake every shot. That means to be on point, you need to fire your HGR at the same time, not partition them. That means you can't just divide them left-right click.

It should lose the reticle shake at least, retain the screen shake. Because it's already jarring as it is, now we can't even partition them correctly.

As for the Light Gauss Rifle, it competes with the AC10. It's hard to justify using a weapon with even lower DPS, when it also have a lower ammo/ton. Sure it's damage over 750m to 1500m, but realistically that's just a completely niche advantage that requires wide open maps like Alpine Peaks or Polar Highlands, but otherwise you might as well get an AC10 for better DPS cause it's okay at most encounters. The reduced DPS and damage/shot is enough, the reduced ammo/ton is just totally screwing the weapon over.

I think the LGR could also be buffed by making it a long range waepon. at least 900m effective range, so there is a point of using a LGR instead of a ERPPC. What was recently suggested is to give it a certain amount of armor piercing capability, which might bring an interesting factor to the game

The reticle shake for the HGR doesn't make any sense to me. What purpose does it serve? Stopping the player from accurately firing a couple of medium lasers, or whatever other paltry support weapons a mech mounting an HGR can carry? It's pointless and it should go.

The Heavy Gauss is firing a 400 lbs. (180 kg more or less) projectile at 1500 m/s. Firing it should cause you to shake, rattle, and roll a bit. Think of the smaller naval guns in WWII. In real life, a sabot like this would fly for miles and still cause terrible damage. In the MWO universe, they short-ranged the other large ballistics, turning them into mortars. I would think that if we really wanted to increase the range of the HGR in MWO, we should see a similar velocity reduction. It is a massive round, so even at a speed of 500 m/s it would still pack a wallop. And at that slower speed, (AC 20 is 650 m/s) you would have to lead the target at 270m by half a second.

The Light Gauss is a weapon in search of a use. 2 more tons gets you a standard Gauss with a significant damage upgrade. AC10 gives you better DPS for only 2 extra slots. For any role you could want to use it in, there is another weapon system that does it better. I'm not sure an ammo boost is enough to make it useful.
