Encircle and conquer any 3 IS Capital Planets*
• Luthien (Kurita)
• Tharkad (Steiner)
• Atreus (Marik)
• Sian (Liao)
• New Avalon (Davion)
* Tukayyid is the newly-assigned Capital for the Free Rasalhague Republic, but due to its position and state within the Inner Sphere is not eligible for counting toward the Clan Victory Condition.

I think those conditions are a great idea
but I had thought I had recommended a government in exile planet and this would be a back-up
so the Clans don't dominate and win the conflict to quickly
that idea would have allowed FRR to have a capital planet but instead FRR becomes a non entity
(which is pretty lame)
there seems to be no galactic planning, no what do we do now
and there seems to be no real consequence (no counter offensive event no impact on the players at all)

If the situation were reversed, the IS would only need 1 Clan world, and all Clan capitals are right next to each other.
So once the IS surrounds a Clan capital, just one, it's over. Whereas Clans have to own practically the entire Inner Sphere to win.
Any why the hell does Terra not count as a capital world!?

On a more serious note IS should take less LRM and more AMS, and less cowardice and definitely no whining about map disadvantages or clammers while in a match.

there should also be Clan backup planets with close to identical win conditions
Lady I am mostly talking about the frame work for FP
the back bone you need to build on
so a few areas that need focus
galactic: this is big over all war, a players and units need to be able to look at and fit themselves into the big picture
galactic would cover win, loss and tie conditions, boarders, and major fronts
each of these areas need to have weight or value so that it matters if they are lost or changed
quadrants (https://en.wikipedia...lactic_quadrant) or tactical
this would cover star lanes, jump ships, weighted planets
(yes I know we don't have those assets now but with the proper foundation they could be added later)
the capital planets don't matter because
1 they have no value
2 the call to arms and the planet voting system is so screwed up even if you did care you could not do anything anyways
the third area is planetary conflicts
1) when CW first started I was sort of shocked with the amount of battles to take or loose a planet
the more battles on a planet the less value the planet has
2) all planets are identical (what!) good for a start but people will soon get sick of this
we need types of planets and the planets need value (they need to matter)
3) even if a unit cared about a capital planet and they wanted to commit there troops to help they cannot
a few side notes about star lanes, special ops missions
where are the specialized units?
how about Merc specialized 4 man light units that could be sent to gather intel or disrupt supply lines
well no star lanes and no weighted planets where are they going to go
let me ask zeto's mom unit
Steiner would like to hire you for two special ops missions
1) intel into Clan space
2) interdiction mission to disrupt clan supply lines
you think you could reform your unit for this
Steiner will supply the jump ships and 1/2 of the drop ships but you will have to buy the other needed drop ships
hope this makes sense to someone

- Use your tonnage
- Push together
- Deathball, and focus a target
- Bring SRMs and Medium lasers
Why this works:
- Clans have range and speed advantages in FP, and heat disadvantages
- When you push hard and fast, they have to overheat to counter the push
- You CAN NOT trade shots and win a long-range trade battle with clans. (Except Boreal Defend with Battlemasters)
If you can push hard and fast enough (all together) to damage/destroy all the clans first and second wave mechs, they will only be left with meds/lights. This is when your tonnage advantage comes into play, allowing you to mop em up.
Also:
- Max your available tonnage
- Drop heaviest mechs first (No one wants to wait for your assault mech on wave 4)
- Don't bring LRMs to Faction Play
Source: Am [420], we own 25 planets right now. We surrounded Terra last(?) phase. Teamwork is OP.

There are no rules anywhere for voting so people can vote as they please.
If this was a real war, do you think leaving those salients to the left of Luthien and to the right of Thakard would be a good idea? No, it would just be places where forces could be cut off from support, surrounded and pounded into scrap.
Im now loyalist and havent even bothered looking at the voting due to Minimally Viable Map, but if it helps some people play the game and feel like they are actually in control of whats going on then more power to them.

And yes... many Units are now active in NBT, with actual logistics, politics and warfare. Faction Play is where we go for fun, but that's about it.
