When does it make sence to get a tc? Im currently using dakka and laser-vomit TBRs, But the question might be relevant for other Builds as well

I only get one if I have some free tonnage, otherwise you might as well fit in another heatsink.

For clans its usually quite easy to squeeze in TC1, at least on heavy and assaults. Just to get the faster targeting info which is the most important one. For IS its bit trickier as you are always starved on tonnage. For pure laser vomit builds I do put it in if I dont have enough room to put on any more heatsinks.

If you're using streak missiles and need a lock to fire, a computer can be a big help.

@Arctander: You are factually incorrect, a targeting computer has no effect on missile mechanics. Perhaps you are thinking of artemis. Do not spread disinformation.
