Hi all,

So I just got the Bushwacker pack, the X1 X2 and S2.
So far I am enjoying the following two builds:
- #1 Dual AC10 (and nothing else)
- #2 4 x MRM + 4 light MG

#1 is possible on both the X1 and X2, but the X1's ballistic quirk (10% range) make that mech the logical choice for it
#2 is only possible on the X1 (because of the hardpoint).

So at the end of the day I have three mechs, but want to use the X1 "twice" Posted Image

Am I missing something on the X2? Why he did not have any additional quirks like the other two? Is something compensating this?

As for the S2, I am not sure what to do with it. Maybe this, http://mwo.smurfy-ne...59ff7bd406f2143
If you have any comment let me know.

Something else that I find odd. The right arm has +18 points of bonus armor (comes from the mech quirks I guess). The left arm has only +10 additional bonus.
Does know know why?

Shoot straight

The X2 gets higher mobility in all stats but max speed, pitch, and elevation and an extra energy weapon. X1 gets 10% more ballistic range and 10% less energy heat but none of the mobility boosts. X2 does well with builds where you fire a big alpha and twist because of the higher mobility that it has, allowing you to twist to spread damage faster, X2 is also better in poking builds where you peek up, fire a shot, and hide again because of the higher accel and decel.

S2 could make a pretty mean SRM build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...4a5f717b8643875

The right arm gets more armor because it can carry a ballistic, usually the heaviest gun on the mech.

For my builds I tend to use the X2 to fit two of the bigger ballistics (any pair of the 10 to 12 ton guns) while for the X1 I fit three of the 6 to 8 ton guns or quad AC2s. Another good build for the X1 is a SNPPC+AC20 plus three LMGs.

For my S2, I usually take something like this:
BSW-S2

It naturally does SRM builds pretty well, and you can get a lot of ammo and a lot of survivability for no really good reason, plus you go relatively fast.

Edit: Oops, forgot to change the armour.

X2
Gotcha, I missed the mobility buff
So for my 2x AC10 build, the choice is between 10%range or being more nimble.
Tough choice, they are both good perks to have.

S2
Thank you for the builds! I will try to be the scary SRM and see how it goes.

Hi all,

So i did not know I would, but I actually noticed the extra agility of the X2. It does work well with the 2xAC10 build. Move in, boom, boom, move out.
I tried to used 2 x RAC5, and while they are fun to use (tumb tumb tumb, tumb....), I find it difficult to use above 250 / 300m.
Anyways, very happy with my X2 now Posted Image

My issue, now, is my X1 (lol)
X2 is dual balistic
S2 is close and personal with 4x SRM6
What can the X1 be?

I would probably run a single RAC-5 in the arm with MRMs or boated RAC-2 with rocket launchers.

Checking my hangar, my X1 is configured 1x LPLAS, 4x mg, 3x ASRM6 with 270XL. I must have found It okay while leveling or I would have stripped it.

I own the following Bushwackers

3x P1
1x P2
2x S2
1x X1
2x X2

The quirk differences between variants is not really important. The biggest attribute is armor which they all have and obviously hardpoint configuration.

Wow, you do like your Bushwacker : )
The P1 sounds fun. Do you have one with 6xASRM4 ?

Thank you for the X1 idea. I will try something like that. Maybe with a SN-PPC for the energy hardpoint.

I have a 300XL with 6x SRM4 and the other build is 6x ASRM4 with a 275XL. Both built for scouting mode where you know it will be brawling and need high alpha damage.

My third P1 is 1x LBX-10 + 4x SRM4 + 2x SRM2. I generally prefer the S2 in that role however with mlas in place of SRM2.

Also if you are looking for a good dual AC-10 platform you might consider the Rifleman. The intitial purchase price is very low for a sixty tonner and it combines high mounts with good acceleration. You should have enough c-bills from the current event.

Lol, I was just considering both options!
I bought a P1, and finally went with the 300XL with 6x SRM4
However I might switch to ASRM4 to do better damage.

Also I wonder how it will perform in open map (like polar) where you cannot put the SRM to good use.

Ty for the Rifleman tip.
Atm I am very happy with the X1 with 2xAC10
in the process of becoming my fav mech :)

Why not a 6x SRM6 ?
Not precise enough without Artemis?

This is what I run atm, DPS is great. Usually I trade shots a bit around 300m but most of the time I am below 150m, not sure if the dispersion play a role that close.

Pretty much the reason, I'd say. Also, because the A-SRM4 fires 2 fewer missiles from each launcher per volley, your ammo will last longer

Faster cycle time too.
