First, props to Gas Guzzler and Myke Panterra for their polls. I am not making one to drain attention, but because I think a more specific poll is needed. Their polls can reflect the popularity of mechs which PGI can use as a guide for sales. This is very valuable.

I am looking to make a poll that is more constrained by needs inside of each weight class. I will target weights that are under populated within their weight class and give preferential treatment to classes that have not just been expanded. I will also constrain by speed as this has been a system limitation mentioned by in the past (sorry, no firemoth ).

For Lights:
IS most needs a 20t or 25t mech
Clan most needs a 20t or 25t mech

For Mediums:
IS most needs a 40t mech
Clan most needs 45t mech

For Heavies:
IS most needs a 60t mech
Clan most needs 60t mech

For Assaults:
IS most needs a 85t mech
Clan most needs 80t or 95t mech

The Sling would be using IS gear. Even though most ended up with the SLDF, they are not Clan 'Mechs and do not use Clan weapons. They are too old. And, at any rate, they would be entirely redundant with the Mist Lynx in both appearance and function.

Also, not sure why the Glass Spider is winning over the Hellfire; I'd rather hold out for the RFL-IIC which, again, makes the Glass Spider basically redundant in both appearance and function.

Champion winning over the Blackhawk-KU makes me sad.

Well some of the ppl seem to have, at least concerning some chassis, basic common sense.
Lots of the proposed chassis simply will not come due to them beeing IS-Omnimechs, genuine IS-Clan Mixtech chassis or pre Clan, Starleague in exile chassis.

Their use seems to have been with Smoke Jaguar. Now I think the sling looks like a subpar mech that should never be put in game. But I am not here to adjudicate which mechs should or shouldnt be in game. My job is to present the mechs that fit the weight class, era, and engine limitations that we have in MWO. As there just not that many Clan 20t and 25t that go under the current speed constraints, I cant really justify excluding some of these because they are old.

And PGI has not forbidden IS omnis, they just know that locking in crappy IS XL's would kill sales. That being said, a light IS omni could do quite well because IS lights get XLs anyways. Like the Malak, Raptor, or Strider. (Owens will get torn up.... so maybe not that one)

Locking in "crappy" IS XLs could easily be solved by removing IS XL autodead and just implememntig a cripling debuff for loosing a side or .... carefull heretical suggestion follows....design an IS Chassis with hitboxes that does not suck for a change.

Still think the Blakes Word Jihad Omnis are out of question at this point, due to smal cockpits and other design stuff that is, in Addition to IS Omnitech, not in game at this point.

I don't know why people think the WoB Celestials would be good. They would not. They would be terrible. Look at the implicit geo on them. Basically Awesomes with spindly arms.

The Men Shen, Blackhawk-KU, Raptor are by far the best IS Omnis. None of the later ones come close to having the right blend of mobility and firepower to justify that XL.
