Why Am I Constantly Producing Heat?

I picked up a king crab not too long ago, and I am attempting to test a build with multiple RACs.

I just played a mission, and for some reason, I was constantly producing huge levels of heat even when I wasn't using any weapons at all-about 2 percentage points every second. I got locked into permanent shutdown because of this mystery heat increase that had no relation to my weapons at all.

Is there a bug, or am I missing something?

Laser AMS installed? This produces heat while it shoots down missiles.Consider normal AMS (no heat) instead.

Other sources of "passive heat" are stealth armor (movement) or environment like standing on lava

Well, if you would like real help... you need to be as detailed as possible. Where are you? What map? Do you have Single or Double heatsinks? (If you're in the big crater of Caustic Valley, you'd overheat to the point of exploding pretty easily even with a small amount of double heatsinks).

We need as much detail as you can provide. Does it always happen, was it just in one match? Etc.

Flamers and lava cap at 90% heat, they can't make you overheat by themselves. It had to be LAMS.
