Honestly, I did an LRM15 build last night and it wasn’t terrible, just like a little HBK-4J.

Honestly, the smaller you get the more effective these kinds of weapons can become, LRMs and ATMs (clan I know whatever) in particular for staying in your optimal range and ensuring targets stay out of theirs, and by virtue of being shorter/smaller and having tighter streams and better shooting and taking cover options generally.

Of course that is assuming you don't play them like a potato or strip out 50% of your speed to do so.

Urbie does have the speed to be good at positioning and firing LRMs. LRM15A + 3x ERML Urbie

Although considering the inherent weakness of the LRM, i dont think LRM15 is good enough, being spread damage and being vulnerable to AMS. If i went LRM20A, then i wouldn't have enough ammo, and to have enough ammo i have to sacrifice speed and or backup lasers.

This is really one of the cases where the Urbanmech heavily benefits to +ammo quirks if LRMs on it would ever be a good choice. Of course that's not exactly necessary, for R68 to be a venerable LRM platform, just saying that it's what has to be done for such a goal.

LoL that speed still puts you in the danger zone of a lot of light killers but yeah pretty much I guess, it is enough speed to outmanoeuvre a good percentage of mechs etc.

I would even recommend a tag or narc particularly if you have one of those really nice placement locations and the like.

The reasons it works better should be obvious really, you can't necessarily spam them out at max capacity, but you are maximising your effective speed and positioning advantages in being able to easily spot your own targets (as well as focus on other players targets when needed) and you take even more advantage of the whole no return LOS fire situations.

The actual damage dealt in the moment will be low, and more of an annoyance without supporting fire, but it is the consistency of being able to position and reposition while firing, only ever really exposing the minimal % of your tiny body if necessary, and often being just out of the enemies optimal weapon range reach, that should rack up good scores.

Your biggest fear would be people that move faster than you (and good PPFLD snipers), so if you can do it on a mech where that just doesn't happen... Posted Image

What was your build? have you tried LRM15A [720] + 3x ERML, XL145? What about LRM20 [540] + 3x ERSL, XL125?

Also have you ever ran it with Polar Highlands? What about just Solo-Queue? Cause there is where most troll build works right?

That was an AS7-BH, which only has one missile hardpoint, so unless he was using a single SSRM2 and all the ammo in the world, even then that still doesn't add up.

It doesnt matter what loadout he had, i had games where i unloaded 3 laservomit alphas into target killing it, then scratched few other enemies and finished with 5 assists, 1 solo kill and 50 dmg...

River City - 2 Kills
Rubyville - 1 Kills
Forest Colony - 1 Kill
None of the the best lurms maps.
My Build is just 1 LRM15 and three ERMed's .
I forego the tag for more firepower and ammo oh and a light 170.
Purely a troll build, but it's just for the fun of it.
And a lot of us have forgotten this is a fun game.

I'm sorry but I might not be able to succeed here. Granted I am sporting a backup weapon, which has varied from a single light PPC, to a Snubnose to two Light PPCs, to MRM as a backup to my LRM... Lasers... just about everything except straight LRMs and I am having absolutely terrible luck.
