event started and the map never even shows up for voting. maybe 1 out of every 8 rounds...i've gotten to play it 3 times all day.

I've seen it a bit... though polar and other ice maps were voted instead half the times it came up....

During a 2 hour livestream I got the map 4 times. That's actually not bad, considering I tend to get 8 to 10 matches per stream (I'd get more if I didn't spend time talking about mechs, showing the build, tweaking the build, etc.).

Kidding right? I have dropped on Rubellite like every other match. I was more concerned there'd be a crop of threads complaining about how many times it's gotten picked. huh.

You have 13 days to drop on the map 10 times and win on it 5. In your one day of play you're already 30% through with the event, good job.

What I have seen are people saving up their Votes to build up that multiplier and select a map they believe will NOT be selected...HAHA.. there is more than one person with those thoughts... Had a match where POLAR received 60something % of the vote.. only one LRM boat. The fight ended up being a brawl because most had no long range weapons... that LRM boat ended with 70ish damage.. (chuckles)....

I wished I had taken screenshots but I was laughing so hard my sides were hurting.

I have it in something like 7 out of 8.
Every other match, someone complains that it comes so often that he is already sick of it.

So either you had VERY bad luck or you had 2-3 matches in a row without the map and are now dramatically exaggerating that to build yourself a point that is not there just to spew around spite for spite's sake.

hmm last night it wasn't showing up at all for me, i almost got on the forums to bizzatch, but today...I just went 3-4 in a row. Knocked out the challenge in little over an hour.

Yesterday almost half of my matches was Oasis, so it must be RNG on your end.

I have seen it quite too many times and I am thinking of bowing out for the game for a while till the event ends. There is something unbalanced about the map, I kind of suspect it favors heavily on one side. Plus I don't really like muddy murky maps.

I've played 11 games in the last 2 days. 8 were on Ruby. 4/4 W/L split.

Just make sure you get the event done ASAP, before everyone gets sick of the map and out-votes it.

The map shows what is wrong with the game: laser spam.

I have talked to several people. Most like the map. However, they do not vote for it because "it isn't suited for their laser builds".

It seems to me that players "just stopped voting for it." In the first two days, oh yeah, dozens. It seems a lot of people hate that map so, just like Therma, it's evil twin with a different color wash out, doesn't see too much play...

I understand that "events" make event-play difficult for people that have regular day jobs and family committments. I'm not sure anything could be done. If, PGI ever gets back to random maps, this situation becomes a bit more problematic...

What's this new map? I haven't seen it in game. I heard that you can find it if you play N64's Star Wars Shadows of the Empire, though.
