I'm contemplating getting the Florentine. But I want a second opinion on the builds I'm contemplating.

FLORENTINE Dual Snub+AC10

FLORENTINE 2xSRM6 Art+AC10+2xERSmall

The Florentine has less structure quirks than the regular crabs. Which frankly only hold up okay because of their weird hit boxes. So it really makes me question these builds. Since they would require getting in close and require a smaller engine.

Just bought this thing last night. Never shop for mechs while drinking, kiddos.

Anyways, I too am trying to come up with a decent build or two for this. I'm leaning towards AC10 some MRMs, maybe.

Any advice from experienced Florentine pilots would be appreciated!

The 2/2/2 weapons points and only 50 tons, you get hard pressed for using all..
My current setup gets LTE250, 2xERmeds,2xMRM20, 2xLMG... i had 2xLbx5,2xErmeds before,
Missile points as energy ones have great convergence, double ballistic on 50 tonner is hard to pull of,
LBX5 did great...but you need to be flanker and alive for a long time, to get damage rolling.
You can pull 2srm4/6, 2mpl/1Lbx10..but watch the heat.

FLORENTINE

I took your current build and modified it a bit: LTE270, 2LLs, 2MRM10s, 2LMGs. Same basic idea as yours except mine is a little quicker at the expense of DPS. I like how the ranges of the weapons align, 250 to 400 meters is the sweet spot.

Working up the courage to click the purchase button for Florentine and maybe High Roller.

I’m feeling pretty good about something around these lines:

If you are using MPL, it might be smarter to go SRM, just range. I dont consider MRM short range weapon.
On High Roller, i have a hot build for it , but its really fun, 3erml in arm, LPL in CT and 2xLbx2 in ST...
you have to do XL for it, Ermls are a bit hot... but 2xlbx2 with LPL is really nice. You can swap LPL for LL,
get a bit more cooling or smaller LFE, i pair ERML with LPL for identical range profile. Its not a standard brawling
bushie... more of a flanker and rather good at it, due to almost prefect convergence.
Im glad you liked my build and made your own, i guess that the best compliment you can get..
and you got me something to think about,LL are in good spot right now.

I'm sharing this link in multiple formats.

FLORENTINE

ADDENDUM: I have 7 head armor, I'm not sure why it's limiting me to two in smurphy but Im sure I have 7.

This needs the following skill sets.

https://kitlaan.gitl...cc5b9#s=Weapons

https://kitlaan.gitl...mor%20Structure

https://kitlaan.gitl...ch%20Operations

https://kitlaan.gitl...s=Miscellaneous

I have run multiple 1k+ damage games, my last round was 1060dmg with 4 kills and 7 assists. I'd show you but I don't know how to upload an image to the forums and refuse to go through the hassle of running through an image host.

Also yes, my signature is from my old pilot name. I am the god king urbie, lord of mechs. I got bored of maining the chassis all the time and getting called out when I didn't play one.

Oh hey side note:

If anyone decided to friend me and run a swarm of angry RAC5 Crabs, I'm all in. It'd be awesome to run a group of crabs and king crabs for ballistic insanity.

The problem with the Florentine is that the Crab works very well as a durable energy boat. Other mechs in the same weight range do a mixed loadout batter. For example the Bushwackerer is much better for dual RAC5's.

I tried a few Florentine loadouts before I found what worked for me.

2 LPL's and 2 SRM4's. If you want to go fast strip armor from the arms for a light 280. Or you can drop down to a light 250 and add 2 light MG's and an extra DHS. Both have Endo and Ferro.

I think I'll go full derp-mode with 2 LB2X, LAMS & an XL325.

After that fails, I'll probably give the 2 RAC5 build a go.

I'd drop the LAMS, add 2 ERSLs, but yeah otherwise looks like a lot of stupid fun.

I'll have to try it.

And 64pts of rear CT armour... crabtastic!

I dumped the armour points anywhere they'd fit, couldn't be bothered to distribute it properly.

64 points on rct sounds right when you are running away a lot.

I've had Crabs since a Steele Dan concer... oh yeah, since the Resistance pack and while they are wubba dubba fun this thing has what they have always needed dakka. That whole pack was a bit to laser vomit heavy but I really just wanted the maulers and the R variant Wolfhound.

Thinking about picking this up as well and from what I see dropping the lrms for a bigger engine looks like a solid build. The 2x rac5 build would be fun to.
Speed tweak should make it more than fast enough to flank around and rip butts off and run away.

I should have read this thread before i bough it. The lack of pod space in the arms means you can't even mount an AC20 if you wanted to. No matter what build I try i'm either ammo starved or undergunned...

Really glad it was 50% off and ~ $5.00

I was experimenting with the Florentine some time ago and came up with this build: 2 UAC2s, 2 ER Mediums and 1 MRM10. It should be a fun dakka build.
