Wow!!! So if this assertion is correct, the decades of trouble Harmony Gold has caused Battletech-centric companies has been illegitimate from the start! Part of the reason Battletech miniatures production has been bounced around and sold and resold is because of Harmony Gold Headaches. What a bunch of clowns!

If HG loses, what would the ramifications be for BT? Would this take HG out of the loop completely and make them (HG) irrelevant and no longer a factor for all things BT?

Pretty much. Their only fingerhold in BT is the Macross-based Unseen, and if they lose this case, then they will lose all grounds to go after BT.

Frakkin' A. I don't always like everything that PGI does, but I'm toasting them for this. Every penny I've put into this game is money well spent if they're willing to take Harmony Gold down a peg or three.

Kinda how I'm looking at it at this point. if the cash I've pumped into this game over the past years... if even one cent went towards this, and PGI wins... then we literally helped save battletech from it's worst enemy.

Now the only question that may create issues is from whom and how did FASA secure the rights to use the "unseen" to begin with.

Did that party hold the rights to these characters? if they did not then we still have an issue where Big West (the now undisputed owner of those characters) Could pull a Harmony Gold and sue PGI,Catalyst Game Labs and Hair Brained Schemes.

Or they could, you know, make an arrangement with PGI et al to license their stuff to them and make a few bucks in an arena they're not playing in anyway. Something PGI has shown a willingness to do in the past.

Basically, if this removes HG, the one bad player in this mess, things should become much more sane.
