This is not about what was initially promoted as what the mode might have and achieve.
Just a poll about what is it about the mode right now that you prefer over Quick Play.

Edit: 09/12/2017
I'll open this up for comments, is there an aspect of faction play I have not included that should be added to the poll?
If so, please state reasons.

To tell the truth I just get bored playing QP all the time. For all it's flaws there really isn't anything else to do in the game other than than FP and QP.

I do like having different drop deck and sometimes using mechs that I don't use much in QP too.

Well....what you say made me stop playing faction play.
Pretty much nothing of what was promised and announced became real...whole game became stuck in a perpetual demo state with teasers of what could be if a real gaming studio would work on it.

Well Not playing faction play as is.

Would play if there was immersion, background of actual factions and missions/quests/bit of faction specific content to play to get away from the monotone, dumb, shoot em up sh.. in quickplay.

I want to play FW because there's no point in playing QP and I have no interest at all in Solaris, especially after pretty much already playing it for 6 years.

This. Plus, it at least has some more strategic elements to it.

F.W should be about fighting for your faction and being a Loyalist, the rest just supporting roles.

I didn't mind so much the end maps at the beginning being a bit dull. Scouting should have been a big plus, for small units.

I lost interest in it, because it was all about the Merc and scouting just made it easier to farm for event wins for big units.

If P.G.I ever got their act together and made it what it should be about, I'd play it almost exclusively, but it's clear they never really had any interest in making it good, and used it as bait to keep those people they thought would leave if they didn't pretend to improve the mode.

Mainly I play faction to make space bacon delivery great again.
But instead I'm helping out space burger and space noodle joints because PGI lumped us all together.
The fudge PGI! :P

On a very serial note: It's more challenging, and fighting to maybe in the centuries to come to get house marik a planet just does it for me. :P
But also the teamwork and I like to improve on my drop calling which is best done in faction.

CW, is at it's core, Battletech - fighting for the control of the Inner Sphere. I am here to play Battletech.

Bonus is that I get to team up with a bunch of friends to do it.

drop decks and longer games, thats what i like. its not quite one of those hour long mwll matches that were just great, but its close. i dont think either of those features would work in quick play (for one it would make games less quick). quick play games are too short and not very immersive. even with teams vs taters i still find that fp is a much better game.

if it would emphasize more team on team, pug on pug action, it would improve things a lot. it doesnt even need to be a hard split with seprate queues. like teams less than 6 can play pugs, teams more than 6 have to play other large teams, pugs still acting as fill for those. it doesnt need to have a match maker either, it just needs to throw everyone a bone from time to time. and i dont want hand holding, i just want games that dont take 20 minutes to form and anything that increases population would pull it off.

CW just feels like a longer, drawn out, version of QP.... so I usually just stick with QP.

I have not played CW consistently since before the Long Tom was introduced. The exception to that is during a challenge or event giving incentive to play CW.

Maybe i'm a bit offtopic but i can tell you why i don't play FP:

Matches are too long (i'm not a fan of the dropdeck respawn stuff), i prefer shorter sessions. That's why i do play at least scouting when an event calls for FP.

And like many others i miss the whole campaign-feeling, depth and immersion which such a mode should provide.

I played Mekwars before MWO existed and this ugly and non-intuitive thing had all the depth i expected from CW. I especially liked the fact that each drop your mechs are at stake. You had to attack specific planets to raid the stuff you need if you can't afford the black market. Or you conquered the planets with production facilities needed by your faction. Obtaining an Atlas and keeping it alive and in battle condition meant something because if you lose that Atlas you may be forced to start over in a badly equipped firestarter...

I can imagine that initially PGI wanted something similar too but while designing realized that such an FP with a separate inventory would have been very hard to monetize or destroy the existing monetization. Now it seems that they want to give us all this depth (minus the multiplayer-aspect) in MW5 because such things are much easier to balance in a singleplayer game and monetization is already ensured though the game's initial price-tag.

Drop decks

Edit: Though I'll add that we could use the drop decks differently in which case we might then want a different option for respawn.

drop decks in the lead, imagine how much less QP would suck if you could swap out a mech of equal or lesser tonnage after the map/mode selection?
