You get to keep your mechs and get reset to T5. This would resolve a lot of issues with the current PSR & MM. PGI gets more $$

I'd put up a poll if we get enough support here

PS: After reading through the replies, pretty sure that those who don't like this idea are mainly those who prefer the soft competition with the potatoes in T1 matches. Shame though.

I personally wouldn't pay to go back. But those who are being seal clubbed in T1 matches can go back to a tier more suitable for them.

How about paying to be able to start threads about PSR resets?

Adding a new broken system on the existing broken system doesnt neutrelize the badness.
the closed fix would probaly a real elo instead this PSR but that not gonna happend trying to adding a seal club mode aint fixing it XD.

I recently made an alt account to actually experience a few things for my self

Firstly I wanted to see what a new player experience was and how difficult it was to get started. (it's pretty easy to get a good mech built with the proving grounds and cadet bonuses but the skiling up was bit of a drag for more than a single mech.

Secondly there was a rather vocal claim that the lower tiers were "Lurmagedon" where hordes of nublets were being buried under tides of LRM fire causing them to quit in droves. Well this was completely false.

And, I had to seriously refrain from playing well to severely offset the team balance by being a high tier player in nubtown. I was at a major advantage in tiers 5 and 4 so I will agree, This idea for a paid tier reset is open to grievous abuse.

Then they would just advance back up to T1 and get clubbed instead of clubbing.

Shrug. PSR isn't getting fixed in a hurry. At least the income provides PGI with an incentive to do something.

Its a stop gap measure and not perfect but at least it will improve the current situation.

You guys prefer the status quo?

Actually yes, the status quo is better than your suggestion.

How does allowing every troll to go back to T5 and club seals improve the current situation?

I totally agree a tier reset is a waste of PGI resources and time as there is less than 5% new players a year that actually stay with this game as it is.

The real key to fun matches is learn the game and make PGI get rid of all the bugs and exploits being used in this game that drive players away. one example is (arty/air strikes) which are totally abused in quick play and FP to a point the game should be renamed to (RED SMOKE ONLINE) or some similar game name.

MWO in some respects is still a very fun game in quick play and FP if players are of similar skill sets if not its a horrible experience in matches for both the very skilled and less skilled players.

If anything PGI needs to evaluate the MWO player experience mostly for new players and casual solo players teams have enough kudos as it is and a steady diet of cannon fodder in group play and FP.

No.
It defeats purpose.
I personally slummed it on an alt to see. It wasn't fair in the least. Clubbing new guys is scummy and keeps people from enjoying the game. Kills their longevity. You hate being the seal in tier 1. Why would you want to be part of the problem? ( A remorseless metamechs.com fellating exploit crutch using c you next you get the rest)

I made an alternate account after the Skill Tree came in and haven't really gone back to my Main (BWS2K). I leveled out exactly where I was before with similar stats... until the MLX-G came out. Now I'm in T2. Sometimes I want the competitive stuff and I like to drop with my unit but, if we're being honest, I literally made a third account in August where I play IS 'mechs (I'm almost exclusively Clan and even then, mostly Lynxes - outside that window I'm a total scrub) and I focus on the support-y things: Encouraging teamwork, helping new folks with loadouts and tactics, marking targets for LRMs, dropcalling, etc. It's a totally different experience and I enjoy it a lot... but I can absolutely wreck faces in the trial Jenner and I'm not even that good in it (which is why I don't bother to do so - NARC Ravens, Capping Locusts, and a Javelin with only rockets for me!). Paying to be able to go back and 'club seals' has only a very limited appeal - if you do that, you lurch right out of the lower tiers anyway and it's just poor sportsmanship.

Agreed. I also feel this way about players who complain they and their friends can't get a good game out of the group queue because they can't win against 12-man comp teams, and their solution is to let groups into the solo queue so they can club on some T5 solo-trash.

The decision has been made guys: Solaris. All of this fine banter and discussion means nothing: Solaris. Tier resets will happen when Solaris completly self-destructs and even the Whales leave.....
