I find most players completely lack situational awareness to the point they are completely unaware they are actually blocking your retreat or firing lane. I see this way too often to be in Tier 1.

On a FP match tonight i declared over comms..."everyone check their firing arcs BEFORE switching to max zoom" because inevitably 90% of playes go to max, never leave it, and don't even watch the minimap to consider the overlapping icon to theirs that isn't red means a friendly is right beside them and in fact... might have a body area in the way of their arm mounted weapons.

people continually standing right behind someone when they are poking a corner or humping a hill. The forums have a zillion posts on this infuriating behaviour. Nothing so far is working.

My least favorite kind of player and the type I find most head scratching is the one who comes up right behind you, blocking your retreat, and there is an ENTIRE FLIPPIN hillside for them to poke over along side you.

I remember some players used to consider this a sort of "soft, unreportable tk," blocking your retreat into cover so the red team can light you up. Maybe it's not idiocy, just sayin'.

I'm curious though. What are the maps that you guys have a positive ratio on?

I'm pretty aggressive and I seem to do poorly on Rubellite. The only one with a negative ratio.

Rubellite is currently my best at 1.71. Terra Therma is my next best at 1.44. Most other maps are clustered in the 0.95-1.1 range with Viridian being my worst at 0.85.

I think that my success on Rubellite (only 38 matches so far) is due to people still learning the map. So they often find themselves separated and are easily focused down. I'm pretty adaptable and I tend to play shorter range (<400m) dps builds so getting into 1:1 or 2:2 matchups helps me.

Also, all the other maps are burdened by my early MWO career stats while Rubellite is just me playing at my current best.

I'm sorry, but how can we take anything the OP says seriously with a name lie TK-er? :P

All kidding aside.. yeah, preventing retreats, or as I call it "meatshielding" is one of the more infuriating things people do.. and ih happens in all tiers.. Some people even do it on purpose, so as to literally use you as a meat shield..

As far as Nascaring goes on HPG.. yeah, if you're a slow assault, and a LRM boat at that, you are about 70% fooked.. unless you rush all the way to the center and group up with your team as fast as possible..

HPG is a bad map for many things.. my second most hated map.. first is Rubellite.. that map is just cancer..

My own ratios are:
...

You got me thinking...

So for QP maps, I range from 0.83 (Tourmaline) to 1.34 (Bog). I'm not counting the 1.44 for Oasis, because it's only 22 matches.

The following maps, you don't want me on your team;
Forest Colony
Caustic Valley
Frozen City (0.98 if you put normal & Night together)
Alpine Peaks
Tourmaline Desert
Terra Therma
Crimson Strait

So beware! Posted Image

I can understand, things get crowded at choke points or corners in pugland sometimes (which is where I would fully expect it to happen), but when it's just 2 or 3 players with a whole unobstructed ridgeline or hill to shoot over....c'mon now?!?

Has happened way too many times in the last week or so...
Yep, when this happens to me, you'll hear me yelling over and over, "We're Storm Troopers, NOT Sand People. We move side-by-side, NOT single file!"

But oh no, too many bad players in this game think you and the other 10 people on his team are their to provide him cover, so he tries to wear you like a 'codpiece' while he 'Rambozos" his way to 12 solo kills...

Um...well, er?!?!

To be clear, it absolutely would be as equally stupid if it were done on purpose. Perhaps even more so.

Also if I noticed a player doing it more than once, he would find it awfully hard to keep doing it.
