In scouting, you launch, hold still on various spinning pitchforks to collect intel and shoot the bad guys. If the "scouts" you also try to escape via dropship. If the huners, you also try to kill the other guys before they escape. Each intel node helps your "side".. not sure if regardless of win or only if you win.

That directly ties into advantages and disadvantages in "Invasion"... which is basically quickplay with 96 mechs + "Invasion" and "Counter Attack". In Invasion, you either burst open or defend gates by shooting/protecting the generators behind them and shooting/protecting the generators that keep the main gun's weakness closed. Finally destroy/protect the final gun until no one is left.
In Counter Attack the gates are open, boom its deathmatch have fun.

At T5 and 65 matches played you're a baby seal asking to be clubbed.
Let's make this clear: FW does not have tier-based matchmaking. It routinely drops groups of solo pugs against 12-man premades.
Trying to solo pug FW is an experience for masochists, so instead of trying to do that find a premade team on one of the teamspeak (or discord) hubs willing to take you on a few drops and teach you the ropes.
You need to have at least four owned mechs (not Trials) for your Scouting and Invasion drop decks (Scouting: one mech up to 55t, consult team for specifics, Invasion: four mechs up to 265 tons total, again consult team for specifics).

Getting Set Up To Drop In Faction Play

preparing to enter faction play will help ease the frustrations that will follow.
Ideally you'll want to have bookmarked in TS the many different TS3 servers, some use Discord of the faction units you can group up with. Sometimes TS3 is better then using LFG for finding a group.

Make attempts to stay with the same group, most Units have a trial period,

for newer pilots entering FW, it is best they listen to the Drop caller, if there is one, as noted in other FW post, there sometimes no DC needed since the Group already knows what needs to be done. It does not hurt to ask to wing with a more experienced Pilot, don't just follow, they may not like that, or they may welcome it.
Maintain you're distance from other pilots, so not to block them.

you got to start sometime, but not with Trial mechs, If you're still needing trials to fill in a Drop deck you're not ready for Faction war yet,

I have my own theory what is needed to start with at a minimum, which is 6 mechs, but that number is higher. 2 range, 2 Mid, 2 Brawl, from the Heavies, as close to 80KM as you can get , some may reach 74km, depending your choices, but 80 or faster.
Mech selection you're on your own decision, from reading and listening/learning from others , and every time there is a new patch those choices can change, that and newer mechs

And if you hear someone calling to push, and you noticed they are in the back on top of a hill, just reply "after you" Posted Image
