Mobile and Electronic Warfare!
Greetings Mechwarriors!

This is my first post here so I hope it's been placed correctly. Additionally this unit isn't necessarily Mercenary so I'll also post a quick link to this topic in Clan and IS forums also. Any advice or help from Moderators as to where this might be best placed would be appreciated.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I'm looking to create a new team/unit to explore a different playstyle, in a group setting, to the more common meta that I'm currently experiencing. If some or all of the below resonates with you and you'd be interested to join then I'd really like to hear from you.

I'm a relatively new, currently Tier 3, player of circa 3-4 months at time of writing and have recently been enjoying playing with and learning from my current team (HHPG) who I continue to learn plenty from.

What I'm most interested in exploring is a more mobile form of combat in MWO. At times the current dominating play style (from my eyes) involves hunkering down, trading, peeking whereas I find myself having more fun in faster more mobile mechs be it at range, brawling, or wolf-packing.

At the same time as mobility I'm really keen to create a group open to experimenting with electronic warfare in MWO. I'd like to see more focus on effective ECM/BAP/etc and Stealth Armour usage; a disruptive unit that can either harry or dog the enemy, get stuck in with hit and run tactics and generally make it harder for the enemy team to cohere.

More importantly though I'm looking for people who want to have fun; that's pretty crucial to why I game right now :-).

A list of requirements and info

-I'm in the UK and tend to play during it's evenings and weekends, but all timezone players are welcome.

-Having voice-comms and the desire to communicate/socialise a little is vital. Expect English to be the main language spoken; purely because that's where I live.

-All players of all skill levels are welcome; all I ask in advance is that we're open to new ideas and willing to teach others.

-As well as exploration and having fun another aim of the team will be to see the unit improve it's game over time; I'd like to take my play to the next level for example right now.

-The main game modes focused on will be Quick Play and Faction Warfare. As the team improves I'd like to branch out in Competitive Play.

-Right now there is no decision as to whether the team will be Mercenary, Clan, or Inner Sphere, I do like the idea that whatever is chosen can lend a degree of roleplay and story telling to the group though; as a quick example I feel it would be nice if folks wanted to have a unified camo/unit colour scheme.

-This is a friendly team of like minded folks who behave well towards other players and their team mates whilst doing their best to win.

-As one of the main aims is to have fun I'd like to point out that, as a social group, I'm keen to make the team 420 and alcohol friendly. Ideally people won't be dropping in states that reduce their ability to play well but a degree of casual can be expected.

A bit about me

My name's Ryan, I'm 32 and run my own business in Bristol UK making hand built custom bicycle wheels. My Battletech career started with MW3 and I've been a little hooked ever since! I've recently come back to gaming this past 6 months and am keen to make as much as the hobby as I can.

I'm relatively liberal and left-leaning and as such am keen to have a team made up of those of a similar bent; whilst the team will have no political bent to it bigotry, racism, sexism and homophobia have no place here in any form (as, I'd hope, the rest of the MWO community!)

In the rest of my spare time you'll find me either riding bikes, enjoying a smoke, or twiddling on the guitar.

Take home Message?

Reply here if the idea of such a team interests you! Once there's 3-4 people who'd like to discuss further and give ideas a go I'll set up a TS server and we can drop as a casual group online to see if we get on. I'm going to set the evening of Friday 26th of January (UK time) aside 7-11pm for folks to get together and blow up some robot's together!

Likewise if you know of or are part of an existing team that matches the above description please get in touch!

I sometimes find online forums can be somewhat negative in tone: if you're replying to say that such a team isn't possible/won't work I'd really appreciate it if you didn't; let us learn that for ourselves and have fun trying!

Finally I will be posting this over on the MWO forums in due course...but given that there is no 'general' section (only faction based) for teams looking to recruit I'm not sure where this might belong: any advice would be much appreciated.
