I imagine pretty well given the Support Weapon mechanic where Support Weapons automatically fire after every melee attack. The vanilla Charger comes armed with FIVE Small Lasers, which are classed as Support Weapons. It's only downfall is that it doesn't have the spare tonnage for Jump Jets, so no DFA, at least not if you want to retain the armor and weapons it already has. And unlike MWO, you can't change out the engine to free up tonnage.

HBS could add some laser hardpoints to compensate for the support hardpoints in case if someone wanted to swap out the Small Lasers for Medium lasers.

Yeah, HBS does do that with many of the mechs. Any time a weapon gets reclassed as a Support Weapon, HBS will usually double up the hard points, one Support hard point and a hard point of whatever the weapon was originally classified as,

I was referring to the person who made the design, it looks more like a stick than a sword. But on that note, I agree that the Hatamoto doesn't need a sword in order to look cool. Its variants can hold their own without one.

I want to thank everyone who had supported my thread in getting these two mechs in the game. I want to personally thank Catten Hart for the idea in suggesting that I turn the thread into a compromise thread to gain both Hatamoto and Charger followers. I also want to thank the people who made fan-arts of both mechs so these two siblings can gain some exposure. Finally I want to thank both those who voted for the Hatamoto and Charger in Gas Guzzler's Mechpack poll so I can keep track of the votes and update the thread on a daily basis as well as those who gave reasonable cons and valid criticisms about the mech.

Now as for the naysayers. All I want to tell you is this...HA!

Now excuse me, I am going to buy these two siblings as promised and wait until they come out so I can play the living eff out of both of them, regardless of how they will play.

That doesn't bother me as much as the square head on the charger. The original had a very cool Boba Fett "T" Cockpit window because of the tall, rounder head. It's totally lost in the new design.
