We can't keep doing "buff after buff after buff." But Paul, youve, done 7 months of nonstop nerfs? WTF are you buffing repeatedly month after month? What? Also if the most important thing you are trying to achieve is higher TTK, then why the hell do you have strikes as powerful as they are?

If there's no RAC buff by Navid A1 there, I'm going to flip out.

16:00 minutes in, it's all about how hard the job is. Power Creep is addressed, but there's barely any yet. Of course i agree, in fact I always questioned the buffs-only approach with the community-driven open-letter.

Why would they want to increase TTK... That is insane.. that is not even Battletech.. That is why so many mechs have become unused..

No not every weapon is viable..

Is it much of the same-same rhetoric we've heard for the past 12 months...? By that I mean a bunch of stuff they say and do the opposite.

Weapon buffs... lol. Throw some token ballistic velocity into the mix and that suddenly negates the mass nerfing the past 12 months?

Amazing how you could be so out of touch with reality.

I listened to the whole thing. My take away from it was that PGI was mildly resentful that a minority of the player base had a rose tinted glass view of elements that the game once had that they felt was more fun, and that the players must understand that their staff is very busy and relies greatly on actual numbers on paper for game balance.

To which I say... Okay? I guess? Except that the issues that make a game FUN to play seem to be sailing over their heads. I'm going to bump this video because it seemed to do a good job of isolating specific things about the game that felt fun and are noticed because they're no longer there.


Edit - the Balance review portion starts from 16:00 minutes on.

I mention this every so often, but I am REALLY looking forward to playing HBS Battletech now. It will give me a good vacation from this game and maybe sometime next summer something might happen to it to make it more fun. Maybe.

Time to kill... Its not call of duty he says but we want to kill mechs even faster than they all ready are and there are a plethora of mechs not used because they die so fast, i can list a heap.. Someone of your so called ranking should already know..

I'm not a battletech purist but raising the TTK after its already stupidly high is not fun, not battletech and not needed... ******* esports ruined modern gaming..

increasing TTK = increasing the amount of time it takes to kill; the opposite of what you think it means.

i cant even justify putting an hour into the game all week, not about to sit through an hour long podcast on the subject. waiting on somone to post the highlights. you know all the self contradictions that cause an endless feedback look that consumes developer time and doesnt solve anything. its kind of like trying to move a fridge by pushing it from all four sides.

as for ttk. its fine for weapons like autocannons and mrms and srms and ppcs. then some guy with a 100 point laser alpha one hits you. lasers need to be utterly destroyed or everything else needs to be brought up to their level. balance is done weapon by weapons but it ignores the fact that lasers are often clustered up into big arrays while most heavy weapons tend to be used singularly or in pairs at most. dont balance an ac5 against a medium laser, balance an ac5 against 4 medium lasers.

TTK is perfect right now. PGI if you're reading, just try not to decrease TTK but don't aim to make it even longer.

I think the laser apocalypse in T5 should make laser non-viable in T1..
