Did you guys see the latest trailer for ready player one? I'm positive at the end there's Timber Wolves!

There is nothing even remotely resembling a Timber Wolf in that picture. And yes, I do know what you're referring to. I

If anything, it resembles a warhawk chassis. Not a madcat/timber...

I'm not the best with chassis but I immediately thought it was a mech when I saw it.

They are definitely Mechwarrior-ish.

I read the book and don’t recall any Battletech references sadly.

His later book does have a MechWarrior reference, though.

Getting BT/MW cameos is doubtful, however. Again, thank the lawsuit.

Considering how iconic battletech is to 80's and 90's tabletop and PC games, you would hope to see big stomping robots from Mechwarrior games in a major battle scene as depicted. However, You have to remember this is a Disney movie. They won't be using something so steeped in lawsuits that might jeopardize production time if Harmony Gold got a wild hair up their ***.

Could you even imagine how hard and how deep The Mouse would **** disHarmony Gold if they dared raise a legal argument against anything Disney made? HG would get legally blasted so hard we'd forget that they even existed. There'd just be this hole in our brains filed between 'FASA' and 'PGI'.

not really.

Same thing would happen with the hasbro.

Suit would be filed, suit would be settled long before anything other than initial filings happened.

Disney would/could throw money at them in a large enough amount that HG jumps and most likely agreements on both sides to just drop the issue publicly completely.

Seeins as Harmony Gold sues everything remotely referencing/picturing a battletech-like 'mech... I think lawyers would definitely reccomend anyone and everyone to stay away even as a cultural reference.
