I mean, isn't it how it is now?

Terra suffers from not being able to do all game modes on top of being a robot roasting zone. Being automatically impossible any time a certain mode comes up doesn't help it any.

The LRM buff means basicly nothing. Litte bit easier to spamlord from the back, does nothing to help the medium LRM boat or the LRM5 which would have been helped greatly by a little bit more ammo. I dont know why the game seems to balance builds so that LRMs have slightly less ammo then they need but until that is addressed its lurm from the back.

Flamers making me lol too, altho i have to ask if its ok to decouple one weapon like that, why i ask you.... why couldnt solaris have all of its own weapon values so it would have zero impact on established game modes.

We honestly don't need more ammo, but it'd be nice if the ammo we had hit a little harder and launchers fired slower. Same DPS, lower ammo consumption. At least now you have a better chance of not wasting ammo on a miss.

Well i dont expect anybody is going to get on board with a dmg buff so soon after they were nerfed (or ever :) ). I can accept that for other peoples comfort LRMs had to be made totally and completely weak, but that can be compensated by more ammo. If you ever want to see LRMs come off the assult boats with upwards of 3000 ammo then you got to let mediums carry enough. The ballistic people have said similar stuff. Armour went up, ammo didnt.

But why are ALL of the Fafnirs in division 1 before we've had a chance to use them at all? Does this mean that they're OP?
Is putting them in Div 1 before they hit the server is blatant P2W, just me?

Pushing sales. They're hoping to rope in the idiots.

Armor went up, after damage had already went down.

Truly though, the last thing LRMs need is more ability to spam and be equally useless for more volleys in a match. They can add damage/speed increase the CD and put a hard cap on # missiles fired to trigger a global CD.

Things that make them useful for the quantity of mechs that can only carry 1-2 (and smaller launchers at that) but place smarter/more pointed restrictions on them that prevent them from devastating low tiers.

A big problem with LRMs is that they all use the same ammo despite huge jumps in the outputted damage range while the rest of the stats stay nearly exactly the same. If they treated them more like autocannons and LBX they'd actually start moving in the right direction with their balance.

I kinda feel like 70 tons is about where clan LRMs start to balance weight/ammo/firepower. Even so you still get to choose between a sensble mixed build and running out of ammo in the last 1/3 eg NCT-B or you can have loads of ammo but nothing else eg SNS-D. If you think i am exagerating go in training and target something and just hold down fire, watch how fast that will dump all its ammo.

I have to add this disclaimer. I dont play any more, my build philosophy might be wrong and i probably dont know what im on about. Posted Image I might have took the SNS in game tbh but skill tree makes me sad. Stuff like adding crit chance to LRMs and feeling like it has to be taken just because it is there doesnt seem right to me.

Look at how vulnerable all the ammo is on those builds aswell :) Its like every variable these days is holding LRMs back

There were like 4 people having a cry fest on forums due to flamer ban and they went back on their decision. Time to try and abuse it to destroy the play time of others so they do what should have been done from the start.

It's pretty funny that they not only had to ban Flamers from Solaris, but also any build with 7 or more of HPPC, CERPPC, or any Clan large-sized laser.

Wonder what else is gonna be banned next? I call either Rocket Launchers or MRMs.

EDIT: Whoops, misread the patch notes. Flamers are not actually banned anymore, they just have a Solaris-specific nerf that doesn't apply to other modes. Still funny though.

Rocket launcher are one shot dont think theyll be removed, mrms arent gona get banned. Im sure the heavy weapons are getting limited to prevent subverting ghost heat, since onces the mech dies heat is ignored since the game ends as soon as the mech dies in 1v1. Thats what i think at least as to why pgi did that

And another thing, about the map temperature changes. I made a little spreadsheet comparing the old to the new:

Overall map temperatures are coming down a bit across the board, with cold maps getting warmer and hot maps getting less hot for the most part.

Good bout time, time to punish them hot builds. Now we just need more hot maps to outnumber the cold ones. Also terra is always the hottest, tourmaline is colder than terra

Time to make more hot maps, and make cold maps apear rarely. crack down on hot build and punish them i say!

  • LRM change is funny, won't make much difference given most people fire them @ 800m from the back of the field.
Overall still no fixes to... Stale gameplay.
  • SRMs spread is still akin to throwing sand into the wind. Make them good again!!!!
  • cUAC is still only useable when boated.
  • IS UAC is still a little too hot.
  • ACs in general still feel just a tad anemic.
  • Light Gauss still sucks.
  • And a bunch of other stuff still sucks.

It will, means lrms will get there faster than usualy its also a major buff for mid range as well since they will get there faster than before.
-Srms were too damn good having too tight and insta coring out mechs. The spread should stay, if ya want tighter spread thats what artemis is for
-Cuac is still good even when not boating, just requires a bit longer facetime. A price for having lighter and higher range ac
-IS Uac still outperforms the regular ac especialy uac5, the heat should stay infact make it hotter
-Ac feel fine, maybe buff one here and there but they are good
-light guass doesnt suck, could use a range buff but thats about it
Just though id throw in my 2 centurions

Actually you can fit it on a Battlemaster, but you have to go 32 kph and have no armor in order to do so.

Yeah, I mean PGI missed a PRIME opportunity to F with people and make Alpine Peaks THE coldest map.

It's computer guided weaponry and SHOULD be weak when compared to every other weapon system that requires:

A: FACE TIME.
B: The ability to AIM all by one's self.

But LRMs, particularly streamed LRMs are all facetime. Its PGI thats made them spamlord weapons. Why did my build get punished when it was frontline? Look at the 2 builds i posted further up, they are facetime builds designed to force teh other guy to back up first. Bad players are the bane of LRMs.. mmm bane.

Because computer guided weaponry that only requires the skills of:

1. Put little circle in bigger square.
2. Wait for bigger circle.
3. Pull trigger.

SHOULD be weak when compared to EVERYTHING else.

Besides that, even if you are among the ONE PERCENT that play their LRM boats on the front line in plain view of the enemy, it's the 99% of the unskilled underhive that make limiting the effectiveness of computer guided weapon systems to ensure the game is balanced.

If you want LRMs 'improved', then either A: remove their ability to be used in an 'indirect fire' mode, or B: somehow convince EVERY OTHER LRM boater to play like you do.

Kind of disappointed in some of the changes.

First of all MGs need a much larger nerf or maybe just a major change in how they work. The could add a Overheat bar on them similar to RACs that is based on the number of MGs you have mounted on your mech. 4 and less, unlimited fire rate. 5-6, 5 second of fire time before you have to stop and cool them down, 7-8 4 second until you have to cool them. 9-10 3 second until you have to cool them. 11-12 and 2 second to you have to cool them.

Also the vast majority of players agree that the problem with MGs has to do with crit chance and the amount of damage the do to internal structure. A drastic reduction in their ability to crit and normalizing the damage they do to both armor and structure would have went a long way to correcting the issue without a mechanics change. Instead we got a change that really changes nothing, at least not in a significant manner.

Also I don't understand why the LRMs needed a velocity increase. They are already extremely effective and even OP on maps like Polar Highlands. Why are they in need of a buff again? I mean usually when something is really bothering players there are quite a few forum posts about it. I haven't seen one, not one post commenting LRMs needed a buff.

Which goes on to say, "Why the hell does PGI keep fixing things that aren't broken?" I mean if your players don't feel there is a problem, then why would you mess with it and potentially CREATE a problem. PGI has done this over and over and over, I mean it is like they intentional are sabotaging their game by making changes intentionally designed to stir up trouble. I just don't get it.

Yet.

You need Jihad-era tech to do so, but a 100-tonner with a 200XL, small cockpit, compact gyro, composite structure, and ferro-fibrous armor can legally mount 7 HPPCs, precisely. And even gets 15.5 tons of armor doing so.
