An under-engined Battlemaster with either paper thin armor or no armor at all? Probably with the default 10 standard heat sinks.

Nope. A completely stripped Battlemaster with Endo-Steel and the lightest STD engine possible comes up 0.5 tons short of being able to carry the required 10 heat sinks.

Only 2 IS 'mechs have the tonnage, Energy hardpoints and space to mount 7 HPPCs - the Black Knight & the BattleMaster.

After the 70 tons of HPPCs are added, the Black Knight with Endo has 1 ton left for an engine & the BattleMaster with Endo has 6.5 10.5 tons. So it's not actually possible to mount 7 HPPCs on a 'mech and take it into a match.

6 HPPCs you can do, but since 7 HPPCs is literally impossible with any current chassis, it seems odd to even add it in as a limit.

Spoiler

D'oh! I didn't even bother with Endo or Ferro, was too busy laughing at how heavy 7 HPPCs are Posted Image

Fun fact OP: No IS 'mech in MWO is capable of mounting and legally fielding seven HPPCs. The BLR-1G and BLR-3M are technically capable of carrying seven with a STD170 - STD195 (featuring a stunning top speed of 37.2 kph), but cannot muster the tonnage for the minimum of ten heatsinks even with zero points of armor.

Dang. We need to bug PGi some more about including XL Gyros and Small Cockpits.

It's technically feasible for a mech between 85-100 tons to carry 7 HPPCs, even if none of the current mechs have the hardpoints to support it. I suppose they figured they'd add it now and get it out of the way, rather than wait for such a mech to be released.

So, you tell me which mech can pack 7 Heavy PPCs...

Thanks for the laughter

Right now, none of them. Six is pretty much the limit. It'd take having 2E in each side torso + 2E in one arm and 1E on the other, all wrapped up in a big ol' 90-100 tonner....

or basically, a Stealth Fafnir with 2 x Heavy Gauss Riffles?

Does the (S) version come with 13-slot side torsos?

I kinda wonder the purpose of having a ban on 7 HPPC. Like is there any mech that can even hold 7HPPC on it?

Also why even ban direstar builds in the first place when they aren't actually capable of one shotting other assault mechs. 7 HPPC is 90 damage, much less alpha than many allowed strikes. PPFLD of course, but kills you from ghost heat if you fire.

In a horribly perverse way, this might actually have given away the next IS assault in production.

7x HPPC is 105 damage, but still.

Oh right, I was thinking 90 since I could only find mechs that could hold 6 HPPCs at once.

I thought this was bait as well and left it alone.

Now it has 3 pages and a 'discussion'.
