Maybe you should be more specific? Is this a terrain issue? I haven't noticed any problems on Liao Jungle so far.

There are parts of the map near the walls you can back into that basically cover parts of the mech with the "wall shields", I've also seen this on boreal

The issue I was talking about is the bad hit-reg in Jungle in general. A lot of shots simply disappear, even if you shoot right at the center of the enemy, on any part of the map. Even xCico from Eon had complained about his AC20 shots disappearing, after I defeated him. Same with DrxAbstract.

That's very strange. I can't think of any reason why hit registration apart from terrain would work any differently as a result of being on a certain map...

All I know is that Jungle eats up your shots more than the other maps, and the performance hit is noticeable. I even had a 2 second freeze near the middle of the map. Maybe it has something to do with all the foliage. Maybe. Unfortunately not everyone realizes that and as a result I was accused of cheating. :P

I do rather dislike the immense amount of synthesized plant life on that map. Always obstructing my view at the perfect tactical spot. If that was the cause of it, I'd dislike it even more...

The foliage in MWO seems to be always in the way, especially trees that 'absorb' my shots. Same goes to forest colony, so hard to see **** with them green leaves everywhere.

Most of the issues I've noticed tend to be the same kind you see on QP maps like Forest Colony and occasionally Viridian Bog. Too much foliage eating your frame-rates and causing you to miss shots you think you hit.

Then perhaps this is related to collisions between the foliage and missile/ballistic weapons? I've noted in the past that my laser weapons seem to be incapable of interacting with this type of terrain feature.

The same cannot be said of ballistics and missiles, even a single AC/2 round easily knocks down the small trees on the latest Forest Colony map, and others like it. I never suspected these small trees and such were capable of blocking these shots from going down range though...

It's not that their blocking shots, it's that there is so much foliage being loaded and processed that it causes lag, resulting in shots that you think you hit, but the server decides that you missed. It's simply clutter clogging things up.

I think it's the uneven ground that causes misses. You might see the enemy mech but your weapons might not have full view.

After playing one match on Liao Jungle, I nicknamed it the hungry hole - cause it eats all my FPS Posted Image

Always voting it out first ever since.
