Yup, it can be very frustrating to drop with an ineffective team. That said, while I can only guess at what gameplay is like in the higher tiers, I enjoy the chaos of T5.
Good hunting,

honestly bad builds and unviable mechs play a bigger role in stomps
your team got squishy assaults in solaris city you'll probably lose

Just carry hard if you want to win, I can do 6 WLR when I try to play my best, and 1WLR when I take the worst builds imagineable. Your result reflects your effort, not that of your teammates.

The real problem with the match.aker is that it has to build mat he's from the players available.
The great majority of players in MWO are incompetent and cowardly to a surreal extreme.
There's no fix to that save legalizing lead paint and letting natural selection take it's course.

Came across pretty weird behavior from a certain player, and hopefully someone can explain it. I won't be naming and shaming but situation is:
Player in an Assault (namely BAS I noticed mostly), goes solo or sticks in the back behind his entire team on purpose, doesn't respond to any requests and never follows orders, while always gets killed by Lights or Meds collectively jumping him, without much of a resistance (not like he could do much really). So, I went to Jarls list site to check stats, because it is hardly possible to be that bad, and what do I see? This guy has played only two seasons so far, with average W/L of ~1.15, K/D is close to ~2, and matchscore varies between 250-300, also has total of 1500+ games played so far. You don't see these kinds of stats from player THAT BAD, so can anyone try to explain what's the deal with this guy?...

If this is just once, maybe he got a phone call...
If repeatedly for a single day, he might be letting a friend or child try out the game on his account...
If repeatedly over multiple days, it could be a broken hack.

Seen him maybe total of 5 times during this week, and every single time he does the same thing. Me and other guys tried typing and directing him over VOIP, zero reaction... It looks like his dog or cat is secretly playing this game, because I doubt that even little kid who is able to use kb+m, would do dumb stuff like that.

Definitely sounds like a broken bot/hack. I've seen it before where it walks right into a mountain, then tries to jump over it with a single JJ, then walks into a corner, scraping a wall the entire way, and starts firing into the wall at any red square it sees. Spectating these is both hilarious, and extremely frustrating.

And now here I am, in Tier 2.

Would have a Star Wars gif to congratulate you to T2, but I'm on my phone at work. All I can say the potatoes are somehow worse than the ones in T4.

Honestly, I really don't think you'll notice any difference at all. Congrats btw!

You're right... I haven't been matched with this much starch since I restarted at the bottom of T5 last year...
The depressing truth is it gets worse as you advance up the tiers because once you hit T1, the MM expects YOU to carry. Depending on the time of day and the vagaries of the MM, there may only be a couple people on your team better than a potato, and if you’re T1, the MM will treat you as one of them for match making purposes. So if you’re just a mediocre player, or happen to be playing a mech you can’t carry in, expect some long days at the office.
