The only way Escort mode would be fun is to have team cover one of the assaults.
A real player.
In QP matches ppl like to run. Even normal assaults get left behind because ppl hate to just wait. They wanne move.
VIP Atlas is considerably slower than any regular assault/slow mech and takes weird pathes. All of which increases the distance between team and the
objective turning it into some kind of handicapped deathmatch. And with distance I dont only mean spatial distance but also distance in terms of playing to and according to mission objectives. Its just irelevant cause the VIP is so dumb, so slow and nobody really botehrs with it.
The vip takes really bad routes eg on frozen city it stays in the center canyon for way too long, in plain sight of team red, often times it melts to combined sniper fire in the early phase of game. No sane person would stay there in the middle, in plain sight, with no cover, getting hammred from advantageous high ground.
Most ppl I see just ignore VIP Atlas and run to engage team red like they do in skirmish.
They should make a real player vip and if that player discos they should automatically give any other assault or heavy VIP status. Dunno why they simply refuse to make a real player vip but its prolly the fear of too much grief and also that ppl consistenly disco in mwo. Turning a mode which evybody asks for into prolly the single least popular mode. It gets rarely chosen. Sometimes I dont play it for days and prolly 100 matches. Or more even.
But devs always take ages to change anything.
Could take years or maybe itll never get changed.
