This is more of an idea about providing a separate Event Mode that people go to should they wish to participate in any given event.

However, the bigger benefit in providing it's own area is to be able to have more detailed or specific rules for each event that would not affect other game modes.

For example:

At the time of writing this the Solaris City map event is underway.
By having an Event Mode that players can select, it guarantees players get to play on the map.

But lets extend the functionality a little.

What if it was also an Urbanmech only event?
What if everyone played in the K9 as a stock trial mech?

.......

Let's also consider some of the recent Faction events which have been geared towards particular factions fighting each other.
Players could join the queue, be assigned to a team at random, be provided with a drop deck with a mech of each weight class based on the common lore for the faction.

This would avoid any problems with contracts and loyalty penalties.
Providing players with a drop deck would mean everyone is on the same level with stock builds and no skills.
Being randomly assigned to a team would allow players to use a variety of mechs and earn the rewards from both factions.
The events could be run at any time regardless of where the 'live' faction play conflict might be at.

........

I would only suggest that a separate Event Mode would be good for themed events.
Regular events for mech releases, KMDD, score challenges etc don't need to be separated.
But on the occasions where it would be nice to have a big event, it may be good to have a mode where they can be run and have some very specific rules or setup.
