It's too good of a skill to even be allowed, this makes is really hard to beat a light because of their speed and leg humping tendencies.

All the players that use Radar dep have to do is play peekaboo and will instantly win because of lock ons constantly being negated because of something so simple as cover.

Radar dep needs to be removed or replaced with something like 'enemies can't see your weapons but can still target you.'

*Reason for this thread is final straw dealing with lights less than 30 tons mounting radar dep making it harder to lock on (is Radar dep supposed to increase lock on time?) so irritating when you get a lock and they just run behind you*
*I dont mind radar dep with lrms because i can always look somewhere else, it's just the streaks getting denied not fun*

No. Use something that doesn't need locks.

Radar Derp is primarily used to make lock-ons go away faster after you leave the line of sight of a missile mech. If a mech is humping your leg then Radar Derp won't have much effect since they're not behind a piece of cover.

It also has no effect on any ballistics, any lasers/PPCs, or any dumb-fire missiles (MRMs, SRMs).

And frankly, since the advent of the new skill tree, people investing into the sensor tree are going to have to give up something like firepower, survival, or operations. I think that balances it out.

No.

It already was nerfed, it went from a module to what 5 nodes and you have to get other things as well, 18 nodes in all if you want to get all radar derp. That is a hefty price already.

There is also another option, instead on relying on other people locks and hard work on the front line, you can also take a maddog and use one of the six missile hardpoint for narc, play at 200-400 meters from enemy, instead of being [Redacted] staying at 800-900m and narc your own ******* targets.

Radar Derp is pointless when you can target spot a locked opponent.

I don't use it on any of my light mechs and have no problem eating people.

I don't get the legs thing. Maybe you guys shouldn't strip your legs down to the point where they have so little armor and structure? I get double leg kills all the time and I'm just like... why.

To clarify, people complaining about leg humping are referring to the situation when a small mech gets close enough to their legs to physically collide with them, and for certain mechs this means that they might not be able to shoot somebody that close because of their torso pitch being limited and/or being so tall.

It's not related to armor at all.

Wow !

Tell us how you really feel...... NARC's are such a waste of space.... It's OK, it's just a game and a rather silly one at that. Anyway, there aren't any LRM boats in Solaris so what do we have radar dep at all anymore? Isn't Solaris PGI's prime game now? Aren't we all suppose to be in S7 where there aren't any LRM's?

eh it just needs some tweaking, it use to be worse (for the lrmer)...like its one thing for you to go out of line of sight ok...but It still does if the targeted mech goes into just enough of a dip you lose locks, and you still can see them....Also if you barely move out of their box you lose the lock...That is kind of annoying to have instant lock loss like that ect.

I do that **** too. Why should I stay where you can hit me?

Note; This only works on opponents who are extremely isolated. Standing in someones crotch usually means standing with your back to the enemy team and your allies (arguably worse). If you didn't take equipment to deal with me imma use that against you because all the good lights are made out of glass.

If thats the case bring UAVs or play a streak boat with JJs.

If you don't have one, the Huntsman is an excellent jumpy streaker. If you picked up the hero you can run 8 missile pods for maximum [Redacted].
