I've been running a Shard with 6 x (regular)MG's and 3 x HML's which I like quite a bit. Full Firepower/Survival Skill trees, it's solid backstabber, though the arms fall off if you sneeze. That said, I have three other Cheetah's from years ago when I quit and was wondering what some other build idea's are for QP.

Thoughts? I basically have all the omnipods for this mech so any potential build is something I could make. I was thinking maybe a small pulse build as I'm not super effective against other lights with my Shard, I can duel.. but with MG's as my sustained dps I take way too much armor damage if they are fresh and somewhat competent.

can do 3 HML 5mguns +ecm and 2HML 8mguns does alright. for different type of play eh... 2erll and ecm for "sniping" with the high torso mounts it works well but is hot. In general though the mgun one is very solid. It will srm too but other mechs do it better. The prime build is ok... small pulse builds kinda fell out of favor with the damage nerf but they were strong. can try the 9xhsl for a change of pace.

for lolz (especially in solo queue) I am a fan of 4x HML, 3x MG, and ECM (fully upgraded in skill tree or do not bother).

Until you get a 6x ERML+ECM build, it's not a joke build.

The 6 Small Pulse + ECM build is still a solid workhorse. DPS is about on par with the machine gun builds.

I'd probably balance the armor farther forward. Depends on how much running away you like to do.

Personally I prefer the Arctic Cheetah, mostly because of Jump Jets and because Omnipods allow me to arm my 'Mech with various weapons and equipment.

Of course, there are some excellent Flea pilots in the game.

I love the Arctic Cheetah! I wish I'd found it before I got a bunch of other mechs.

My favorite build (probably sub-par but it's a ton of fun for me) is two SRM-6 and 2 light pulse lasers. I often get around 200 damage per battle with this (which, sadly, is pretty good for me, since I've only been playing for a few weeks).
