Me and my opponent, clearly living in Europe, with a ping of way above 200 spawning on the oceanic server, why is this possible?

Guess the matchmaker assigns whatever server is "free" for a match, no matter the location of the players.

If you don't know for certain your opponent was EU, then you cannot say that.

They might have been Oceainic, but in Asia. Currently the Cable to AU is broke so people in Asia, who would normally have low pings, are a little higher.

Well opposite end here but gets annoying dropping on EU and NA servers with a big ping difference, it really does affect the matchup's and is quite frustrating.. ..Solaris needs to have proper region selection that actually works..

I seem to do fine with 500ms ping on EU?

Granted some shots get a bit wonky but the better player still wins more often than not.

Dunno if the S7 population could support such a move. Maybe if S7 would be a primetime daily event, running from 5pm to 1am in each region.

I know what you mean, the queues are pretty quiet as it is, which is a royal shame cause I was really hyped to get a fair bit of Solaris in, but between crashes and queue times...

It really is a shame. But not surprising, given PGIs tendency to release something with a lot of hype and then doing everything to keep players away from it.

Honestly, Solaris is fun but Elo is killing it. Players with high Elo stop playing because a loss becomes too massive.

I typically play in a few divisions and it seems that I am constantly just trying to get Elo back due to a disco or a loss to a new player using a meta mech. I lose like 100 Elo when I play a new mech for fun.

Further, I am playing more opponents that are angry than are having fun.

under 350 ping is FINE Oceanics have been dealing with it to play on NA server for 5 years or more.

What is rediculous is putting Oceanics vs EU's on oceanic or EU servers, THOSE matchups should be put on the NA server, so both people get 250ish ping, but eu vs na and na vs oce should still get the 50 50 of being on their home server.

Dude, not you has the problem to hit, more your opponent. Tried to hit a 300+ ping light?

The other dude had nearly the same ping as me, so I guessed he is from Europe too. I always thought, the Asians have such good connections.... I would then sue my provider if he gave me a ping of 270 close to my area.

Yeah?

I did just fine. I have beaten many light mechs in a Hvy/Assault despite this advantage.

Learn to lead shots/aim. No different when the shoe is on the other foot (EU plays on OC). I mean it should be locked so that EU and OC always play on US... Alas that wont happen.

No it's just a straight up statement.

You get beaten because you are not as good as your opponent. Simple really.

Yeah I am and the only time I've lost on EU servers is to better players like Lizzee, D A T A and so on, players I quite rightly should be beaten by. So it's not ping if I can regularly beat players on EU server while Ihave 400-550ms pings.

Of course have also lost the odd one here/there from brain farts but that happens.

So again it's basically as I have said each post now...
