ELO is the player ranking number used to determine leaderboard ranking. it's largely based on wins in the beginning, but i think it goes up or down based on other figures as well.

I haven't used flamers yet in Solaris, but basically, PGi made flamers less effective than in Quick play.

To add to what Viking Yelling said about elo, the amount of elo you gain with a win, or lose with a loss, is based on the difference between your elo and that of your opponent. So if you face someone much higher ranked than you and win you can gain a LOT of elo. If you lose to a much higher ranked opponent you lose almost nothing.

Adding to my fellow pilot's remarks, elo/ELO is of course correctly written as ElO - the "L" is little, like the "D" in PHd.

It would appear that it should actually be written as Elo. https://en.m.wikiped...o_rating_system

Thanks! This is a freaking PC game company that uses...MATH...and the best they can say is "less effective"? This really pisses me off because they have never said how effective they are in the first place.
