Recently upgraded my machine, now my resolution synchronicity is all askew with the taskbar sliding down off the bottom edge and the start menu invisible (it too has slid off the edge of the viewing screen).

So I'm looking at monitors, with resolution ratings.

Can't find any at 1280 X 720 (which is the recommended resolution by Windows 10).

Will a monitor rated at 1280 x 800 accommodate the 1280 x 720 resolution?

Thanks in advance!

In 2018 the standard resolution for most games is 1080P. Unless you are limited by a laptop I would not shoot for anything under that resolution.

That's a great idea, unfortunately, when I follow the instructions, the trail only leads so far.

There is no "ADVANCED SETTINGS" option on the Display tab of the Settings. (Help!)

Did you use the auto-adjust button on the monitor?

Does anyone play on a tv? The 1080p reminds me that’s a hugely common tv resolution.

Bomberman, don't create that in Win-settings, you need to create a custom resolution in your GPU´s driver !

I play on a TV, a 46" Sony Bravia LCD; and the text is SO small its nearly impossible to read at times. But I'm to cheap to buy a dedicated monitor.

Yes. Also playing at greater than stated resolution is always okay.
The issue is that many machines are not working at lower resolutions.

This said: The monitor you found works at a 16:10 resolution, where 1280x720 is 16:9. There isn't much difference. You may see either a little bit of stretching or a border, this isn't a big deal.

Most people operate at much higher resolutions anyway, for example 1920x1080 in my case.
You won't find many monitors advertising 1280x720 as this is considered almost as archaic as old televisions at 640x480. Even so, most monitors support all the way down to 1080x720. So I do not see why they would not be able to use 1280x720.

Personally, I'm using a standard HD flat screen TV at 1920x1080 that I got for 99 dollars (plus tax).
And just tried 1080x720, 1080x768, and 1280x720. All of these resolutions work. I would recommend avoiding 4:3 resolutions though, the image shrinks quite a bit horizontally to accommodate those old semi-square screens.

Be warned, MWO's text does not scale up with the resolution, and is very difficult to read at 1920x1080, and even harder to read or even possibly impossible at even higher resolutions without being really close to the screen.
