They wont add the flea to the tournament because not everyone can/will have access to it.

Last I recall, they only add in mechs that are fully released for C-bills for tournament settings.

The Competitive Queue is restricted to only 'Mechs with equivalent C-bill variants available to all players.

The Flea will not be available for C-bills by the end of the competitive queue's open season before the Tournament client for the Semi-finals is locked. Because of this, it will not be available for play in the 2018 Competitive Season.

As if it matters, this years tournament will suck, after the novelity factor has worn down and all "beer league" teams gave up, the comp players will have to deal with this crap and for those the flea is not an option anyway!

So? Should be clear by now that they want to promote mw5. Still, i wouldnt agree to the last statement.
All the lights with std engines are somewhat awefull.
