Before anyone gives me a hard time about "this isn't a reason to quit a game", this wasn't the only issue I had with the game. But it was the issue that made me say "ok, I'll find a different game" (And I didn't go far, as I've been having fun with BattleTech).

Here's the deal - I had a Nova-S already, and it was fully levelled. Now, I didn't have ALL skill nodes unlocked, but I did have a 91-point skill build. So my options were between using the new Mech I got which is completely unskilled, but gets XP faster, or using the Mech I already have XP with.

The problem with this is that in the old system, this would have been an instant upgrade. Or, if I didn't have the Mech yet, it would become a new Mech to level, but a new Mech I didn't have before.

Now, the gift becomes a Mech I must level again, in order to start getting a small GXP boost.

There's something wrong with the skill tree if it makes a gift feel like having to redo a chore.

Even spending free XP on this would be bonkers.

Simple fact is, if he was far enough along with a normal Nova to get no benefit from switching to the Champion, then you should have just sold the Champion and been done with it. If he wasn't far enough along and it was worth switching, then he can't have put much time into it in the first place and it wasn't a big deal.

Just strip / sell the Mech and enjoy the free Mech Bay and C-Bills.

Not purchasing another 91 SP

How many matches, on average, would it take you to earn enough GXP to cover the XP cost of 91 SP? My guess is a lot. Just sell the NVA-S(C) and enjoy the free MechBay.

So it boils down to "I don't want to have to level it again to get the bonus it has". Then don't! That's gonna make you quit the game? That you received a mech with a bonus for free, but you don't feel like skilling out the mech again? Well then just don't. Is the extra XP really worth? If you use the nova often anyway, it's just a minor inconvenience. Now you're really just digging for excuses to complain. : /

I got a bunch of free mechs but don't use most of them because a lot of the time I find them trash.
Why drive a hero mech with a +30% CB upgrade when I can drive one of my favourite mechs instead and make double the amount of C-Bills anyway because I did far better in the match?

I was under the impression you couldn't sell most of those free mechs though. Could be wrong. If so could have another 4 free bays soon.

Well they earn more XP so it stands to reason that includes GXP.

Can't say I've ever tested it, but that should be the case.
