With the supposed lawsuit over with.... my question is: WTF happens now? Can PGI produce the rest of the unseens in the list below? Or are they not allowed to do so?

IS:

Wasp
Stinger
Valkyrie
Crusader
Longbow
Marauder II

OstMechs- Ostscout, Ostroc, Ostsol, and Ostwar.

IIC:

Warhammer, Rifleman, Shadow Hawk, Griffin, and Phoenix Hawk.

(Note: There are IIC's not in dispute with E-Harmony Golddiggers, so as such I didn't include them in list.)

We don’t know. All we can do is wait and see what PGI releases.

The Crusader is the number 1 requested heavy in Gas Guzzler’s poll. PGI would print money with a Crusader pack. If they don’t release that in the next couple months, I’d say we have our answer.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait a little bit before we will know. Making mechs takes time, and with both Mechcon and MW5 coming, we might see some, especially given that CGL had already created several redesigns for them.

Best bet...any big annoucement/reveal will be at Mechcon.

Since the Champion takes us through until October, and the November and December Mechs are already likely locked in, I wouldn't expect delivery of anything like the Unseen until the New Year.

Especially since December has been a PGI homebrew mech for the past two years.

Well, that is why I wouldn't expect another Unseen in December. Because that is the month they let Alex run wild.

I imagine we'll never learn exactly what the agreement was. However we'll be able to deduce things based on what happens

If I had to guess -- but it's only a guess -- I'd say as PGI are free to use the existing reimagined versions of the Macross-based unseen, they'll also be free to use similarly reimagined versions versions of other Macross-based unseen. This just seems like the simplest situation.

If they are free to do this, we'll see the Crusader etc. in the relatively near future. Then we'll know.

There's an entirely separate question about the original unseen art -- I mean the stuff used in old BT before first mid-nineties lawsuit -- and whether those could again be used. But I think with both PGI and Catalyst coming out with new art for these 'mechs, this is losing relevance ... With the work done on the new in-house versions of these 'mechs, I doubt they'd use the straight Macross copies anyway.

Original Unseen art is dead to me. Harmony Gold just straight up ruined it.

I'd rather see art by Alex or Anthony Scroggins 10 times out of 10 now.

100% Superior in every way, IMO.

I fully agree -- and I never imagined saying this. I entered the franchise with BT 2nd ed. and loved the original unseen.

The new designs are recognizably the same 'mechs and fit the overall aesthetic of the universe better.

Also agree. Though I fell in love with BT in the late 80s early 90s. In most cases I prefer the newer art. Some of the older designs would stand out as the skinny anime robots that they were.

But if there is money to be made from nostalgia then we might see them from PGI/CGL/HBS anyway.
