So I was wondering about laser vomit. I've never done it myself but now want to try. Taking quirks and hard points into account, what are the best clan and innersphere mechs of each weight class for laser vomit?

Best clan laservomit mech IMO is the Hellbringer, 5 ERML, 2 ERLL, ECM. The Ebon Jaguar gives it a run for it's money, 6 ERML 2 LPL, but it's a bit hotter and doesn't have ECM.

Best IS laservomit is WHM-6D, with 3 LL + 4 ERML. Decent alpha, runs cool enough, and is pretty speedy.

1st step : Add all lasers, ecm when possible
2nd step : Generously hide behind your team. Always moving - important!!
3rd step : Shoot only at the enemy that is preoccupied with your team and not looking your way.
4th step : Get a high score and convince yourself that you are good at this game.

Clans
Light: N/A...Well, maybe Kit Fox or Adder I guess (kinda pushing it)
Medium: Hunchback IIC
Heavy: Hellbringer, Cauldron Born (but mostly Hellbringer)
Assault: Marauder IIC, Mad Cat Mk. 2, Supernova

IS
Light: Wolfhound (if we're counting a half dozen Medium Lasers as "laser vomit")
Medium: Crab, maybe Blackjack
Heavy: Warhammer, Black Knight, Grasshopper
Assault: Battlemaster

This and also Battlemaster 1G for high mounts.

I'd have to agree the best all-purpose laservomit 'mechs are the Hellbringer and Warhammer WHM-6D

2 HLL, 4-6 ERML on the HBR (ECM optional)
Or swap 2 HLL & some DHS for 2 LPL
Also works well with 4 ERLL

3 LL, 4-6 ERML on the WHM-6D (LFE or XL)
Or swap 3 LL & lower engine for 3 LPL

Funny thing about (Clan) laser vomit, is you can do it with some success on nearly anything. Anything with 6 Energy Hardpoints, and can reasonably fit 20 sinks on, and you're going to melt faces off. The combo is simply that strong.

In addition to the usual suspects - (Hunchback, HBR, Ebon Jag) I've done surpisingly well doing a simple clan laser vomit in the following -

A Stormcrow, and a Linebacker (100 KPH leads to some interesting vomit angles)
A Summoner (Pop-Tart Lasers for the Lols)
A Supernova (Experiments with Clan Single Heatsinks!)

As for IS vomit, I find myself gravitating towards medium pulse spam more often than not, whenever i attempt to run IS vomit. I don't know why, but i do. (This means I enjoy Crabs, Quickdraws, and maybe Grasshoppers for Is laser boats)

Best clan mech for Laser Vomit according to my subjective view:
https://mwo.smurfy-n...ddabc959d99cc09

78 Alpha with acceptable speed, range, hitboxes, heat management, ...

Grasshoper is one of my favorite laser mechs. Can run xl or light engines well, since it has great hitboxs. Have jumpjets and a good number of energy hardpoints. My favorite build is 3 large lasers and ether 4 or 5 Er mediums. Its a great mech, probably why Pgi wants to nerf it every patch. #savethehopper

Subjective alright.

MPL and HLL ranges and duration don't even come close to lining up. Better off with ERML and bigger engine or more DHS.

Assuming 'laser vomit' just means 'i shoot people with lasers', these are my favourite mechs (use your own armor distributions, I do not bother with those in Smurfy setups):

LCT

COU

WLF

HBK IIC

IS
Light: LCT-1E, FLE-17, WLF-2
Medium: BJ-1X, CRB-27B, HBK-4P
Heavy: RFL-5D, TDR-5SS, TDR-5S-T, GHR-5H, WHM-6D
Assault: BLR-1G, BLR-3M, BNC-3M

Clan
Light: lol
Medium: NVA, HBK-IIC-A
Heavy: LBK, HBR, EBJ
Assault: MAD-IIC, SNV-1/C

Note, I'm not including Gauss-vomit 'Mechs in here. Broadly speaking, IS laser vomit revolves around taking 2 or 3 large-class lasers and combining it with 4 to 6 medium-class lasers. The alphas range between 45 and 57. There are a few off-beat examples like the BJ-1X spamming 8x MedLas, the CRB-27 doing 6x Medium Pulse, and the TDR-5SS running either 7x Medium Pulse or 1 or 2 Large Pulse with the remainder being Medium Pulse. Your ideal engine sizes are going to be 280 for 45 tons, 280/300 for 50 tons, 280 for 60 tons, 300 for 65 tons, 325 for 70 tons, 350 for 75 and 85 tons, and 375 for 95 tons, assuming LFE. Lights are weird; LCT-1E runs 6x MedLas, WLF-2 runs 5x or 6x MedPulse, and the FLE-17 makes best use of MASC with either 7x Small Pulse or 2x MedPulse with 5x standard Smalls.

For Clans, you'll be taking 2 large-class lasers and combining with 4 to 6 medium-class lasers. They also have their off-beat examples, such as the LBK running 6x Medium Pulse or the NVA running 12x ER Small. Which large-class laser you take also depends on how much space you have to fill with heatsinks; the EBJ has so much tonnage available that you run out of slots when you use Heavy Large lasers, so I prefer to stick with ER Large or Large Pulse on that one (or, my favorite, go all-in on 8x Medium Pulse). The Hellbringer, in contrast, has much more space but less weight available, so it's more efficient to run Heavy Larges on that one. For the Clan Battlemechs, do whatever you want. Clan Lights blow chunks with laser-only builds right now.

HBR with 2xHLL+4-6ERML+ECM+TC1 if you want max alpha for medium-to-long range poke, and don't mind the heat and the long burn time.
MAD-IIC with 2xLPL+6xMPL+TC1 if you want to melt faces at close-to-medium range with short burn time and decent sustainability.

Those are the builds I use Posted Image

Yes, problem ist, that you have little advantage of putting a 390 engine on the MAD-IIC aside from a little more speed. Initially I used CERML but then I switched to MPL because you can qickly do a 78 alpha and then another 42 shortly after. ERML just have too long of a cooldown now.

That MAD-IIC build helped me getting a K/D of 10 in solo Q with Tier1.
Yes I know I am T2... I did not drop down from Tier1... do the math.

i dont like to use laser vomit on the is side. mrms are just too fun. clan side i have a vomit doom crow and a vomit hellbringer, both revolve around ermls and hlls. i used to have a 3rd but i replaced it with a ppc warhawk which somehow has become very playable since i stopped using it. the other mech is a uac10 adder with 3hmls as backup.

Out of curiosity: do you have your ER Large on chainfire, or are you just eating GH from 3xERLL?
