So i've been studying the dropship for re-creation in a creative ship building game but have run into some weird things regarding proportions.

The canon dimensions of the Leopard are

66 meters long, 51.6 meters wide and 22.4 meters tall, however when you put these over the actual MWO model these dimensions aren't actually accurate as the model is actually wider than it is long.

and if you think the model above isn't accurate the actual art is the same visually

so my question is, what are the actual dimensions of the Leopard in-game?

Well depends.... the scale in MWO is a little bit off so the leopard must be too.

This is a reasonable size for 4 mechs bays 2 asf, 15 single person cabines including toilet and shower, bridge, fuel tanks as well as manouver and transit drive.

size is L:W:H 118:70:25 meters - wingspan of this is example are 140m

I know this isn't adding anything to the conversation, but I saw this image on the BattleTech Twitter and felt I had to share it Posted Image

Canon units dimensions are all over the place. It just depends on who was doing the art or writing and very little thought was put into the practicality of the dimensions given.

Doing rough eyeballing of the Locust and then the Locust vs the Atlas I came to the conclusion that the concept art Leopard is 144 meters long and 182 meters wide wingtip to wingtip.

The basis being that the Atlas is roughly 13 meters wide shoulder to shoulder and the SLDF would give bare minimum 15 meter width on their mechbay doors to fit it.

Well it should be no surprise that the canon dimensions of the Leopard don't fit PGI's Leopard because PGI redesigned the Leopard to look cooler, giving it larger wings and more obvious engines.

This is the PGI Leopard:

This is the original FASA design used by everyone before PGI.

Big difference, no?
