[Tetatae Squawkins]

The latest BT sourcebook is coming out sometime in the next week or so. Shattered Fortress covers 3146-3150 and is the lead up to the ilClan. Exactly how far it goes into telling us who is going to become the ilClan I don't know.

I don't know if you were joking or not. Funnily enough. Alaric Ward(Wolf Khan) is basically a Steiner-Davion-Kerensky.

ilClan speculation.

Alright so we now know that Devlin Stone is handing over Terra and whatever is left of the Republic(not much) to one or more of the Clans. He willingly let them into the solar system which was still protected by a lone fortress wall(jump inhibitor of some kind).

Possibilities:

-One or more of the home Clans or other previously destroyed Clan making a return. If it's a destroyed Clan it seems unlikely the other clans would accept that they had any right to be the ilClan. If it's a group of multiple home clans they would obviously have to fight it out. Assuming they haven't unified into something else in the interim years since the reaving.

-Wolf Clan. ilKhan Steiner-Davion-Kerensky. The lesser of evils between Wolf and Falcon. Still far more authoritarian than some other options.

-Ghost Bear. A possibility given their willingness to integrate with the IS, and they have been mostly sitting out the wider conflict.

-Sea Foxes. They have been making moves all around the IS to cement themselves as an economic/communications force. Possibly the new Comstar. Willing to integrate and treat people somewhat decently relative to other clans

I think the others are less likely.

That's pretty much what the Jihad and Dark Age was.


They are way too deep into it to start over now. Unless they create a parallel timeline and CGL doesn't really have the capital for that. They can barely release a few major products a year as it is.

I would have to say that captured forces of the remaining Clan Smoke Jaguar put into service by the Word of Blake then the Republic used until 3150 before being released after the death of Paul Moon (leader of the CSJ captured forces), then the new leader takes the opportunity to capture Terra as a new Clan Smoke Jaguar, and placing themselves as the ilClan.

I've seen hints elsewhere that the IlClan *might* be Clan Goliath Scorpion, with its focus on the SLDF through the activities of its Seekers and its absorption of the Eridani Light Horse.

The Scorpions are staunch Wardens and also originally trained Wolf's Dragoons for their reconnaissance mission to the Inner Sphere.

Note from the Sarna entry that Clan Goliath Scorpion "is devoted almost entirely to rebuilding the shattered Star League. This obsession with searching the past to unlock the future is fulfilled through the use of necrosia and the Seeker tradition."

I've also seen hints that there might be a "Not-Named" angle somewhere in this story, perhaps on Escorpion Imperio.

And let Kerensky and his ******** play scrabble with the Tetatae after a miss jump to beginn with.

When I look at the quality of the Jihad and Dark Age source books and compare them with the Clan Invasion Mary Sues.... well when you are offended by the Third Transfer and the War to End all Wars.... than you might have hammered through walls with your bare head considering the loop holes of the Invasion.

Of course when the Invasion happened we were all much younger and by design more tolerable.
