That doesn't really help since by their very nature, Gauss builds are going to incur less spike heat.

2 ERLL/6 ERML= 59.4 heat, 64 damage
2 Gauss/2 ERLL/2 ERML = 36.2 heat, 66 damage

Is 66 damage a problem?

As far as I'm concerned no, but what exactly is the point in lower heat capacity on mechs mounting Gauss? If it is meant to stop people from mounting massive alphas it fails because 2 Gauss is 30 damage for practically free as far as heat goes, so unless it is lowering heat capacity by roughly 10 per something absurd like that (heavy gauss being higher), it isn't going to limit alphas with Gauss.
