And, since it is a FP event, a great many of us won't be playing at all..... Or, any event without real MC rewards. We have everything else......other than a game with a decent population to support it.

Oh well, can't have everything I guess. Back to Sea ! Ranked battles are taking a lot of time of later......

From a statistical point of view steam and Jarl list are well aligned.
Steam says 1,311.3 for May and 665.3 for August.
Jarls says 40.898 players for Season 23 (May) and 21.271 players for Season 26 (August).
In both instances half the players have disappeared over a three month period.

and all from other factions as the event Factions, thats no have interest to play QP and not will switch or the unit not switch for thats Grinevent or will not play this event now outside of MWO for this time

Man that's not a lot of players at peak, at least not imo. Most of my friends stopped playing; Mechwarrior is kind of niche in a world of Overcrotch and League of Plebdgends. Oh well, still plenty of fun!

I got so bored of the timid rabbits in solo q I resorted to a lct with two lrm 5s and an er small since no one wanted to engage or brawl any but they just wanted to er ll and guass. So I re-skilled the bug for max range and all the missile nodes. The others got left as laser bugs with various random skills.

Aren't you missing the fact that these public leader boards only reflect quickplay data? With major FP events piling on each other, i'd assume the QP numbers to go down.

This instance of "the sky is falling" sort of feels different than previous ones. I think it might actually be happening this time. Not gonna stop me from playing until they shut the servers off though.

We quit doing group drop months ago due to not finding a queue (before the FP events). And once there was no games to be had in solo due to FP, we all just started playing other games. Its a domino effect that started with many comp players bailing over stock mode. gg

Except those Steam Numbers are people playing the game, not playing a specific game-mode.

A part of this is the fact that Jarl list only shows quick play numbers and only if someone has played 10 matches. The entirety of August was FP events with a x6 increase in faction play numbers in August. Even my own number of games went down significantly according to Jarl List however that's because I spent much more of my time if FP where I rarely played before.

The 2nd part of the current lootbag event (starting tonight) will take place in quickplay. It'll be worth looking at this discussion again at the start of October to see if there was a rise in numbers again.
