Hello guys.

I have a question:

I have been playing a striker, mobile medium 45t mech lately in free play. I usually have a blast, deal around 300-400 dmg and usually gather 2-3 kills/match.

I decided to try solaris

and boy, that was a disaster...

I noticed that the strategies I use in quick play do not work on solaris. Does this makes me a bad pilot, or it just mean, that I need a super heavy mech to be able to compete in this game mode?

Thanks in advance.

Solaris is all about dps, dakka, and srms/mrm’s. LBX w/srm builds are pretty effective, but for me, the scariest thing to fight against is an Annihilator with a six AC2 or UAC2 loadout.

Good hunting,

Neither. It just means that the strategies and builds you used in Quick Play do not work well in Solaris' 1v1 environment and cramped maps.
Been there, done that, adapted to it.
And no, assault mechs are not automatic winners.

What mech and what divison?

But yes Quick Play tactics (that are generally run in a circle) definately do not work in QP.

In solaris you only have to kill one mech,
So for example you need less ammo and thus can maybe have more Armour , weapons or a bigger engine
Skills tree used is different too, less weapon heat skills are needed cause u only have to kill one mech etc.
