PGI the latest patch has failed.
Your effort to fix whatever you were trying to fix is worse.
Clan laser vomit is worse now than when you introduced them.
Yeah yeah dps is down, but they fire cooler and more often.
What sense does that even make.
I'm sure the clanker apologists will show up now.
But come on man.
I don't how you can make point and kill even easier.
But you did.
We might as well all be clankers now.
Is that the plan?
And on a side note where the hell is my Crusader.

Bro, you don't understand what DPS is.

Firing more often for less heat is more DPS, not less.

Clan dissipation was buffed too much. The massively increased dissipation makes the laser damage nerfs and heat capacity nerfs almost meaningless.

I stand corrected.
This is ridiculous.

How badly are the Skill Nodes affecting the new change?

I'm more than positive it does have major effect with heat gens and cool down nodes.
Gotta drive my handful of Clankies to test it.

And somewhere in Paul/Chris dark hearts they are laughing at the playerbase suffering like a slow motion divorce gone psycho.

Want some more sugar with those carcinogens, dear?

I actually had the most pleasant matches that I've had in 2 years.
Sadly this doesn't do much for the blatant lack of true content (game modes, meaningful objectives, something other than "skirmish with random people #753,899 with boxes to stand on.")

But the fact that I actually had a good experience says a lot. Especially when opposed to walking for 30 seconds to 4 minutes only to suddenly drop dead by laser vomit to the head from a seemingly impossible angle, or having 90+ armor stripped in a single shot and before that shot's done even done, the remaining structure removed in the blink of an eye before even being able to track the laser back to its source in front of me and rage quitting after having suffered this multiple times in a row.

Why? I dropped an lrm boat once today, and I did 1200dmg while reading news on my phone, lrms were great before, and now they're even more awesome, more people should play lrms

"Yeah yeah dps is down, but they fire cooler and more often."

Well games are decided and over faster than ever, dps is at it's peak, or all the players became just hip snipers and suddenly target tactically the already weak points of a damaged mech. I guess it is the former.

Combine the increased dissipation with the fact Clans can fit more dubs and tend have bigger engines to fit those dubs without worrying about side torso death. Well then you have some BS stew.

Frankly its fun playing.
Also better DPS seems to have made players go out more often engaging the enemy instead of peaking the whole time.

That said, if the overall goal of PGI is still to increase TTK then this patch ran counter to that goal.

Working as intended you fcktards - you have what you wish supporting this game still after years of dissapointments. Thats PGI at it's core.

This too shall pass.
Give it a few months.
PGI will nerf something substantially and many things incidentally. Their target values will suddenly change, their data will show unerringly just how nearly perfect balance is, but alas, it will be necessary for some reason to once again change some of the mechanics so that a weapon or play style will rise and yet another will be cast down.
That has been PGI's post skill tree approach to balance and it will continue to be.
Non-stop, near monthly dicking around with weapons and mech stats just to get us to change out mechs, re skill them, buy new ones all in a futile effort to keep up.
That's the game.

So yes, this too shall pass.

I can't wait for the inevitable future "IS SL is OP!" complaint. It'll happen, eventually.

People complained that the pokey-poke-hill-humping-hiding-mech-simulator playstyle was boring (which it is), so they changed the meta to reward players willing to risk more face time. I do agree that the Clan DHSs probably need a slight downward tweak, but otherwise, I'm satisfied. Faster games with more players willing to get thick in the sh!t is a good thing.

they just went WAY too far.

the first testserver was capped at a quite low end, it just felt very restrictive, but -good-
a lot of people where unhappy and they went to the next testserver and bonkers after that..
so here we are. yay. ;)
