Hi guys, just wondering anyone have any suggestions or information of new game modes for MWO in 2019? Anything being planned or tested?

Deathmatch + Secondary objective is coming for sure.

I hope not. Escort and Incursion are terrible enough.

Anyone thought of Elemental combat, you know like some sort of FPS mode as infantry?

We need a Nascar gamemode. whichever member of either team completes X laps first around the map, wins.
This way the Nascar addicts can be finally satisfied, and won't do their stupid lapping around the map for no reason and ruin the match for others who are trying to fight and not spend the entire match chasing their team around.

Why new gamemodes when current ones need fixing bad? Mix it up with couple of new maps, and it might take away some stagnant feel a little this game is radiating with right now.

Oh yes! This is amazing idea! Would go as far as transform Solaris 7 into Nascar mode. I'm 100% sure it will become very-very popular at last.

Well Nascar is only a problem in quick plays, I did not hear of any Nascar games in faction warfare. So I'd like to give new game modes a pass and l would like it when PGI does make faction warfare the endgame it should be for basically everyone in T1.

Still waiting on 'assault' where one team is inside a destructible base and the other team is attacking. Not incursion, this was supposed to be another mode.

I'd like a "zombie-Mode" where there could be 4 to 12 defenders of a base, while relentless NPC stock mechs tries to attack the base. Basically a glorified onslaught.

Nascar was only not a problem in the first two years of this game, and during the time when you still have old maps of Frost City, River Valley, even River City and Caustic. Caustic was sheer hillside trench warfare.

You won't have nascar if you have an objective game mode, and respawns to make sure the game mode is not turned into another TDM.

You got something similar ("Assault"?) in War Thunder, and this also reminds me of Fortnite's original game mode. But as you can see with Fortnite, that alone would not make it successful. It took another game mode to make an average shooter like Fortnite, into the massive hit it was today. I would doubt that PUBG would be this successful either if everyone is just playing team death match.

That just shows you how massively transforming the right game mode is.

Incursion should be an asymmetrical attack/defend mode, not 2 opposing bases ridiculously close to one another for no reason.

There was a community-added gametype for Starsiege called Overrun which did this, to the letter, years before wave-based zombie horde modes became a running gag in shooters. Endless faction-themed waves of AI vehicles in stock configs attacking the human players' fixed base- when either the last player or the last base structure fell, game over. You'd get warnings of incoming drops until you lost your sensors, turrets and walls to buy time with, repair and rearming facilities, etc. It was quite a bit of fun, especially when there wasn't a large enough crowd on to get a proper TDM going.

Given the similarity in gameplay ('Mechsim/FPS mashup), it'd work pretty well in MWO. The AI wouldn't even have to be terribly bright to make it happen. What we already have can move and shoot; that's plenty for a wave-based holdout mode... and all of the base assets (destructible walls, structures, turrets) are already in-game.

i want to see all modes replaced with a grand unified mode that isnt full of buckets and isnt quickplay either. i want to keep drop decks and long games. but a lot fewer half baked sub-modes to divide up the population. if you want to play any of the old legacy maps/modes make custom games do that. one mode that isnt a skeleton, a simplified match maker and maybe 3 tiers tops. but pgi isnt going to do any of that so go play living legends instead.

How about you don't plan how to dilute the remaining playerbase any more? It's not like there are enough players with the current gamemodes already without PGI bribing players back with constant small MC bonusses. Even with the bribes ...

I'd like to see a Co-Op mode (PvE) where it's 8x8 with AI driven bots..... WoWs has this mode and it's a really good place to train, grind new ships and obtain Captain skills well before the chaos of FP, QP, or GP....

In fact, there are several WoWs players that only play COOP.....the heck with PvP and toxicity.

Armoured warfare had this, played quite a bit myself, could only manage an hour at a time though-got very boring very fast. Pve always does. Unless the AI is exceptional and can mimic another player well.
