Replacing "earn Xxx Match Score" Events

The problem with the "Earn XXX Match score, YYY times"... is that some players do just enough damage to earn the XXX match score, and then immediately suicide.

Which is why I suggest replacing those event conditions with "Get 1+ kill per match, YYY times". This won't prevent some players from suiciding just after their first kill, but it would make sure they try to take down an enemy mech with them.

Other type of event conditions :
- Easy : Get the most kills of your team, YYY times.
- Medium : Get X kills in one match, YY times.
- Hard : Get the highest score of your team, Y times.

These event conditions are a whole lot better, at avoiding players from suiciding as soon as they think they've completed the event conditions so they can chain the next match faster. And as a bonus can be completed even if your team got totally stomped.

I've never seen a player suicide after getting a needed amount of match score.
And what you are suggesting may result in people stealing kills, suiciding after getting a kill etc. and will make getting loot bags a lot harder.

I would suggest leaving hard only. That amount of useless squirrels going to suicide directly into firing liines from the start makes me hate the events in fact. The worst days in MWO are event days now.

I agree. I hope they don't launch another event this weekend so that I can actually play MWO with proper players.

I wish the breaks between events were 2-3 weeks like before, not 2-3 hours.

Is there any way to know you got enough match score?

Also with all the stat shaming ponies out there you'd think suividing would be a cardinal sin done by the "underhive".

When it's "earn 80 match score", it's easy enough to guess when you have.

Another replacement event suggestion : "Rank in the top ~10 of your team".

Here's an idea for that, replace the match score with X amount of damage. Say get a loot bag for every 100 or 200 damage dealt. That means if you keep dealing damage, you could get more per match. No reason to leave match or suicide.

The game would turn into a nightmare because everyone will bring heavies and assaults that can do tons of damage in a single alpha.
Also, people are running into the enemy team not because of the match score event, but because of an event that requires you to get kills that is running at the same time. People suddenly become super greedy and run into the enemy team hoping to quickly get a kill.

while i don't agree with teh proposed solution, I will agree that match score rewards do nothing but encourage bad player behavior. it doesn't encourage everyone to do it, but the number of people hiding in the back, going AFK right at spawn and coming in to the fight late to mop up, and generally ignoring comms calls to save their own skin at the price of 6 team mates makes events really a drag. The game play during events significantly tanks and becomes more aggravating.
