Hows about all the wannabe Community 3D modellers send "options" in to the Forums (special thread). Then the Community can pick from those entries and 1 gets selected to be sent to PGI (The Art Team) for consideration. ;)

That way, both the Community and the Forum specifically can do their usual bickering and getting all Salty about which entry gets to go to PGI, while PGI's real Art Team simply carries on, all the while laughing as they watch the Forums do its thing (implode) from the comfort of their own real Dev Armchairs.. LOL! ;)

Win - Win really.

This sounds good actually. Kinda like LEGO Ideas.

No, the better option would be to nerf clan, oh wait nvm wrong game forum.
How we do that is the bigger question though. Some artists butcher the looks of the mechs and they look like they don't belong in mwo.
shortpainter's panther is wonderful and MWofies it

In this thread, we encounter someone clueless about how concept art is translated into functional 3D models for gameplay.

You mean to tell me the 3D modeller just half butts it and expects money for the mediocre work?
(some of the models are fine)

I enjoy that there's a pretty wide range of styles and influences on the way the mechs look. Anime mechs, rugged military mechs, animal looking mechs, old school 80s inspired mechs, big megazord robot mechs. Much better than some samey style choice.
