Ive read around on these Q&A's and it seems though as if the entire game takes place on one dedicated server.
I just wanted to know if infact the game runs on a dedicated server so that I may join online matches. My NAT is screwed up and I cant get it fixed. Instead of it being on moderate or open as Id like it to be, no matter what ports I forward I still have a strict NAT. Now Im not asking for help on how to fix my NAT. I want to know if the server will run dedicated so that I can actually join matches.
My NAT has no problem with dedicated servers whatsoever.
Dedicated server or no?

We know that the players won't be hosting the games...at least..not the ranked games..probably not any games at all.

Depending on their Server deployment plan, you will Join a "Server Cluster" or Lobby, which then allows Teams to Match up and drop into what is a Virtual Server, or "Instance" for the duration of that Match and then back to the "Server Cluster" for further Match ups.
House and Merc Corp meeting "Centers" will be places for organized Teams to congregate and seek out/bid on Contracts. There has been some "rumors" of a possible practice Server but that is, at this time, still unconfirmed.

I know you said you don't want help solving it per-say...
But have you tried...
Power cycling?
DMZ?
Are you using a gateway AND a router? If so... bridge em?
etc etc...

So even Federated Suns players with their poor technology servers will be able to play...and lose, againt the might Draconis Combine!

Is this game going to have lots of servers like a WoW or are you hoping for a single persistent server world like EVE Online?
[MATT C] Each game spawns its own dedicated server, these are not persistent like WoW, as mentioned that would take us into MMO territory. There is persistent game world information, i.e. match results are communicated to affect the balance of power in the Inner Sphere, who owns what planet etc. but there is no true persistent world, more of a persistent meta-game

being a f2p game, player hosted games would cause too many problems imo.
