I an looking at a cicada and wanted a meme build with rocket launchers. However I have leftover tonnage with no slots - perfect for a command console since it is the only item which weights 3 tons with 1 slot usage.

However I can't even equip it, while it shows on my heavier mechs such as an Awesome.

Is this a bug? Are CC only for assault mechs?
That would mean this useless item is even more useless...

CC is only available for heavies and assaults.

It's expensive, heavy, and doesn't do much more than a TC does.

And it's not terribly effective for 3 tons. The fact it only takes up one slot is probably it's only saving grace. They should really give it something unique.

Source material. Despite the underwhelming name and presence in mwo.... In the source material it is a second cockpit with a second pilot, communications enhancement to better coordinate a team, and should the primary pilot become incapacitated or killed this second pilot can take over to keep the mech Functional.

In mwo it's a 3 ton paperweight with minor stat enhancements.

But given what it is supposed to be perhaps the reason it is restricted to bigger mechs may make sense?

The Command Console is a wast, use the tonnage for a Targeting Comp and a slightly larger engine.
