I realize a better title for this thread would of been "Welcome to the gun show".

Since FP is basically Clan vs IS it might be worth pointing out again that the Gunslinger is an anti-Clan Mech for all the Free IS forces. Unlike Fafnir or Hatamoto the Gunslinger not only started as a joint venture of rival houses, it could also be found in almost every unit fighting the Clans.
I don't mind faction-specific Mechs at all but I still think it is a nice touch to see Gunslingers of every house as it is canonically accurate. (And I always cringe when I see, say, a Bushwacker in Capellan colours...).

How do you guys think the hitboxes will be for the Gslinger? I'm thinking it'll need good torso twist. It's not fast so it'll need to be able to twist off damage but it'w round body should help with that quite nicely.

I have an idea for a variant. Simply take the LAA off the arms to allow the Gslinger to carry an ac20 in each arm.

The idea itself is good, but in-universe that's a bit low-tech for such a Mech. LB 20-X or UAC/20s are more likely, and since MWO cannot handle the LBs it has to be dual UAC/20. That can be easily explained: Davion likes ACs, and Steiner likes the big guns.

We could also get some UAC-quirks in game; and, of course, we have the option to use the low-tech AC/20s which is imo the better choice for MWO anyway.

Yeah that makes sense and having that in lore bit is fun. Maybe the Ac20s could be explained as a field refit of a damaged mech?

Ohh so good! The lighting is great as it highlights the mech so well.

High mounted laser weapons, possibly ballistics in the arms. This thing is beautiful. Smooth and attractive design, and what I think of when people talk about a classical rendition of a giant robot. The art is super satisfying, and I would gladly throw down for an ultimate pack if ever.

Variant idea, swap the energy & ballistics just like on the Mauler hero. So it'd have 4 ballistics in the STs and ideally 4 more energy split between the arms.

In the recent AMA Russ mentioned that a mech's availability for MW5 is a factor in it getting added, it's not the only one nor the end all be all but certainly influential.

Obviously the Clan invasion would be the first big DLC but along with the Clan mechs I would say there is a very valid point to be made for mechs that were designed because of the Clan invasion, such as the Gunslinger here. The Gunslinger could easily be part of a IS response pack, similar to the Resistance mechs theme.
